The economy is moving toward a genuine depression. Unemployment ranges between 15 and 17 million. Homeowners are losing their property. Energy costs are going up, as is health coverage. The U.S. is experiencing the most disastrous environmental happening in its history (the BP oil spill). The violence in Mexico crosses over into the U.S. daily through our porous border along with a constant stream of illegal immigrants. The morale and confidence of the American public is at an all time low.
Yet our president chooses to file a lawsuit against Arizona for having the audacity to pass legislation that would allow Arizona to enforce the existing federal immigration law. Obama is obviously pandering to the Hispanic vote since he knows that come November his world will change in a major way.
Obama’s Department of Justice will sue Arizona but will not sue those states/cities that openly defy the federal immigration law by declaring themselves to be “sanctuary” sites. These same Department of Justice personnel chose to drop an obvious civil rights violation by the “New Black Panthers.”
Obama chooses to embrace a recess appointment of a radical liberal as Medicare/Medicaid director, a man who has openly endorsed health care rationing. Congress and the American People were kept out of this process.
Obama promised openness and what we got was a government run behind closed doors. It is obvious that Obama is more interested in furthering the liberal agenda than the will of the American people. Is this really the change that America wanted?

In answer to your question, yes it is. After 8 years of either you're for us or your against us, we do want health care to be changed. We don't want insurance companies dictating who will be covered and who won't be, purely dictated by the profit motive. I see nothing that indicates a rationing system. Rationing is already in place and has been for years. It is done by insurance company actuaries who figure the profit vs. treatment of patients, especially those with serious illnesses. Patient beware if the profits don't outweigh the costs. In terms of recess appointments, Bush did it 171 times. The only thing that would have happened is what the letter writer wanted to happen, endless obstructionism as has been practiced for the last 18 months.

Dan, would you say the same about the inept legislators in Arizona? They are fixed on a political maneuver rather than worrying about jobs in this state. The backlash that was caused and was expected by this SB1070 is hurting small business owners, the tourism market and Jan Brewer continues to smile as she feels she is making political headway. However, our state, which was just about to come out of the recession now is back to languishing in a near depression, thanks to our Republican legislatures political pandering.

"Obama more interested in his agenda than American people" . . . Liberal Democrats and Obama administration's focus on Arizona's immigration law, instead of jobs and economy, will hurt the Democratic Party in the fall elections. And this means Conservative Republicans could win control of the House in November.
