I would like to greatly disagree with Mr. Spitzer’s letter disparaging Sen. John McCain’s stance on immigration and more importantly, his military service.
Mr. Spitzer says that as a veteran, he is disappointed that Sen. McCain has turned his back on him and his values.
We’re talking about immigration, not funding for our troops or deciding whether to get involved in an overseas conflict.
Does Mr. Spitzer think that being a veteran grants him the power to control all policies foreign and domestic?
Sen. McCain is trying to solve the complex immigration problem we are facing in this country.
To do it, he has compromised and worked across the aisle. It’s more than just giving immigrants that are here a path to citizenship.
It’s about helping businesses who need those immigrants.
It’s about securing our border and creating a superior work visa system.
Mr. Spitzer seems to think that this is only about shipping people out of this country who are not politically aligned with him, when in fact it’s about much more than that.
