Mesa City Council contender Ralph Brandth is either ignorant of the history of the NAACP or intentionally mis-stating the truth. If he wants to advocate for a white nationalist political party, so be it — the history of such is long and odious. However, to say “Blacks have the NAACP, Mexicans have LaRaza but there is no political group representing the political interests of white people” is disengenuous. The NAACP came into existance in 1909 to give voice to a people that were victims of political oppression, economic exploitation, and social degradation. Where, Mr. Brandt, is the white equivalent of this?
