To Edward F. Murphy regarding his comment about the Mormon church being populated with hypocrites: I just wanted to let you know that not one of the members of the LDS church is perfect. In fact, that is true of every religion. I hope you are not that naive to think so. Like yourself we are tempted and make wrong decisions and mistakes. We are each individuals, free to make our own decisions hopefully trying to be better each day. I hope you would be doing the same. To accuse an entire religion of being “the epitome of hypocrites who populate... the Mormon church” is exactly what’s wrong with our society. Although I do not condone drunk driving in any way, I’m not sure what’s worse, driving drunk or judging others? And it doesn’t matter because all I need to worry about is me and being the best person I can be without belittling others since I am far from perfect myself. I guess what I’m saying is lets all try to be a positive contributor to society, since I’m sure we’ve all done hypocritical things in our life too. Especially when a family is grieving over the loss of a loved one and want to remember them in a positive way. You would want others to be kind if it was your loved one.

1st, it isn't a church, it's a cult pretending to be a church.
Where are your female, black, Hispanic leaders?
What "church" believes its male members will be Gods and live on their own planets, with female virgins at their disposal?
There is so much wrong about what devout Mormons REALLY think about themselves and their "religion" that it's almost laughable.
Now they are redefining some of the rules to help Mitt get elected. THAT'S HYPOCRITICAL TO THE MAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But but but but ... judging people is so much FUN.[smile]
It's the American pasttime.
It's one of the few things we all do.
Goodness gracious, if we had to give up judging others --- we might have to < shudder > think about our own faults ... and that ain't gonna happen.
America ... the land of hate and war.
Republicans hate Democrats.
Democrats hate Republicans
Christians hate Jew, gays, agnostics, atheists, Catholics -- well darn near everyone.
Conservatives hate Liberals.
Liberals hate Conservatives.
And we will make WAR on anyone who doesn't agree with us.
Harsh? yes but also contains a lot of truth.

Willie,
Right once again! I enjoy critisizing my fellow Christians. Where the object of our worship, Christ, has taught us to judge not, least we be judged, and to forgive seven times seventy, and to turn the other cheek and not fight back, but rather go the second mile, it ain't hard to understand why we Christians make war on those descendants of our father Abraham through Ishmael, siding with those who have descended through Isaic. We are faux followers of Christ. Go figure!

A schizophrenic inmate on Flordia death row can be executed, a state judge has ruled, because his grandiose religious delusions are quite common. The legally insane may not be executed, but Judge David Glant ruled that murderer John Ferguson's claim to be the "Prince of GOD" who will sit at God's right hand is "a relatively normal Christian Belief" and doesn't prove he's crazy. Dale Whiting, did the Morman Church donate $8 million to defeat same sex marriages law in California, Christ has taught us to judge not? Churches want religious freedom as long as they are their religious belives. One other thing The Romney family didn't move to Mexico for Religious reasons, they were running away from the law because of perjury and fraud pertaing to a land deal in Arizona.

truth:...A very interesting piece of history I didn't know about the Romney legacy.... lhttp://silvanetblog.blogspot.com/2012/09/romney-lies-about-familys-criminal-past.html#!/2012/09/romney-lies-about-familys-criminal-past.htm .....To qoute from Mitt Romney's book..... "These were the same values and commitments that animated my grandfather and my father and my mother. They were the same values that were passed along to me."....Thank you, truth, for the history lesson.

Not being perfect is an understatement. People need to learn from mistakes, not keep repeating them. Romney has been intentionally lying over and over again throughout his campaign. He has shown little respect for our current President during both debates. He has failed to stand up to his radical base who, continue to make false judgments about our President. Continues to exploit and politicize the deaths of Americans in Benghazi and is trying to deceive people on what his real economic plans are. I don’t know much of the Mormon faith, but if this passes as a good Mormon it is not a religion I respect.

Funny how those on the left love to spew hateful things about how everyone ELSE, is soo hateful !

Onerebel - exposing the truth isn't hateful. However, those who are compromised by the exposing of truths often claim that. Funny how that works. ;)
To the author - I'm not sure what kind of lame, apologetic excuse you were trying to make for Mormons, but it sounds like the same excuse members of the KKK use.
(they're all Christians, too)

"I’m not sure what’s worse, driving drunk or judging others?"
You'd be sure if one of your loved ones had been murdered by a drunk driver.
Everyone judges others, especially Mormons and other religionists.
At least I have morals and don't condemn people to an imaginary place of suffering simply for not believing the same things I do.

This is fantastic. A murderer on death row is now equated to , oh lets call it 80% of the population that self identifies as belonging to some religion. This is good, I mean he did say he wanted to sit at the right hand of God. Makes perfect sense. Yes, if Mitt Romney is a perfect Mormon, we can now assume that every Mormon who walks the earth: thinks, believes and does exactly as Mitt Romney does. Although he is richer than most, was elected into office and ran the Olympics, but other than that.

downdtownresident, you are wrong.
The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints is the same church that Christ Himself organized when He was on earth. You want to see our black leaders? Go to South Africa. Or Tonga. You'll see very few white people there. Just last year, a black man by the nae of Joseph W. Sitati spoke at General Conference. I really enjoyed it.
As for our female leaders, you only need to go to the local church building on Sundays and you'll see that women lead the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women's.
We never changed the rules to get Romney elected. I'm not sure where you got that garbage.
I am a Christian; one of our biggest beliefs is that we don't hate anyone. Jesus taugh us to love even our worst enemies. I do. I don't love what they do. I despise what they do.
Jesus is the best friend anyone could ever have. He is certainly my best friend.
One person I greatly admire is Martin Luther King Jr. In his "I have a Dream" speech, he declared that he hoped his chldren "would live in a nation where they are not judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Amen to that.

Wow, just look at the backpeddaling and evasion mrconservative is doing trying to cover up the blatant sexism and racism of his cult.

Took your cult...er church, another ten years after King's death to rescind their blatant, ignorant racism...of course, it had NOTHING to do with the government threatening the LDS's tax exempt status. LOL
