Is America about to explode, is it a bubbling cauldron about to erupt? How much more deceit, betrayal, outright perjury from elected officials, media, and talking heads can be tolerated before the insanity becomes the catalyst for an event no one wants? At some point the enemy within shall be checked!

The shameful false narrative coming from the White House and in-the-tank media reflects a dimension so destructive, so selfish and damaging it can only be viewed as anti-American. A purposeful attack on freedom and liberty, diabolical efforts to destroy the United States capitalist economy, risking generations of Americans well-being with impossible debt, jeopardizing national security…our nation is without a rudder, in grave peril.

The most recent example. Barack Obama and his minions flood the media with false accusations of an economic apocalypse if (“sequestration”) reduction in fiscal spending increase is enacted. According to Obama and the White House Cabinet, panic at airports will occur, first responders laid off, teachers will be furloughed, poor kids and disabled kids won’t be fed, school children won’t get their food, ill people will be left on gurney’s dying, to name a few lying scare tactics of the worst, the very worst dimension.

Further, what does the media do? They regurgitate the lies, spread the lies without a check/balance, full knowing the Obama Administration is playing politics for their own advantage…a media fully complicit and willing to trade what media honor is left for a place at the “pigs” table. With one or two exceptions, journalist nation-wide are gutless cowards, unwilling to enter their own “skin” by exercising a measure of integrity and objective reporting.

The aggressive media “watch dogs” of the nation have morphed into whimpering, whining, neutered lap dogs.

The sequester struck the federal budget . . . so, President Obama pokes fun at “sequester” during the Gridiron dinner in Washington, D.C. last Saturday night. "My joke writers have been placed on furlough," Obama said.

"Of course, there's one thing in Washington that didn't get cut – the length of this dinner – yet more proof that the sequester makes no sense," was another observation by Obama.

    Here we go again :(

Another paid Republican operative gets his letters posted in right wing newspapers across the country.

Why does the EVT publish stuff from people who don't live in Arizona at least, let alone in the East Valley?

Where is this evil liberal media the right wingers always spew about?

All the media in Arizona is right wing Republican / Tea Party.

Republicans like this are total hypocrites.

The accuse the Democrats of being financially reckless yet it was a Republican administration that started TWO unfunded wars and refused to raise taxes to pay for them and instead decided to adopt the policy of < BORROW AND SPEND AND TO HELL WITH THE BILLS -- WE'LL JUST REFUSE TO PAY THEM > and who now refuse to pay one penny in taxes to pay for the debt THEY created.

    Mr. Riley,
I know this may come as a shock to you, but the same people who control the media, also control the government of this country. It was never any different. The media only attack the weakest, and at the behest of the always higher priority--namely whatever is deemed more profitable, at the time.

It hardly matters which political party you are for, or against. It is only required that you choose one or the other--else be labeled as just another crazy.

It was never any different...we are always about to explode, and yet we never do...
But, fear not, there will be a new wave of aggressive media personalities, who will tell you what you'd like to hear--you need only wait till the next round, in the "wrasslin'" match (or just change the channel on your media machine)!

The Sequester: Many domestic programs will get a 5% cut, while the Pentagon's cuts are 8%, and as the consequences slowly roll out, they will be painful. Hundreds of thousands of federal employees will be furloughed starting April 1, reduced to working 4 hour days a week with a 20% pay cut, the government contractors will lay off their own workers. In cities, funding for social services like after-school programs and Meals on Wheels will vanish. The Food and Drug Administration will perform fewer food inspections, causing meat shortages. Transportation Security Administration agents will no longer receive overtime pay, meaning longer security lines at airports. Peoples lives didn't change overnight when the sequester hit-but we will feel the cuts sooner or later.

The right wingers are ALWAYS calling for SPENDING CUTS and when they get 'em ... welllllllll ... that doesn't make 'em happy either.

How is the government supposed to please the righties?

We passed Boehnercare ( which was Mittcare with a couple more clauses ) and Boehner said " I got 95% of everything I wanted " but the righties STILL aren't happy.

The righties scream " spending cuts spending cuts spending cuts " but when we cut spending it's " oh no -- can't do that because that causes job losses " and " the state is going to lose a lot of money ".

When the CUP OF TRUTH is served we find out that the ONLY thing the right wingers are willing to cut is Social Security and Medicare and any other program that helps people.

Why does Obama and his gaggle of thieves continue to lie to us? Because they are good at, and they may be interested in total control just like someone else was.
Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.

"Transportation Security Administration agents will no longer receive overtime pay, meaning longer security lines at airports"

I am not worried so much about longer lines at the airports as I am about decreased surveillance at the southern border. I just read an article a few nights ago that stated the upsurge in illegals has already begun, with expectation of setting amnesty.

Now, if Obama is really interested in cutting expenses, he could cut out the propaganda trips around the country on Air Force One at $176,000 per hour. That would keep the White House tours open and then some.

It's President Barack Obama who wants to cut Social Security . . . Not the Right Wingers.

After allowing the sequester to go into effect, President Obama put Medicare and Social Security cuts on the table as a way to bring Congress back to budget negotiations, and discussions to increasing taxes on the American people.

A high number in Congress are opposed to cutting entitlements such as Medicare and Social Security. But if either party takes on cutting Social Security – their political lives will be at stake.

If the cauldron does explode it will be because of the type of polarization demonstrated in these comments. It's like two people standing at opposite ends of a room full of gasoline, each threatening to light a match if they don't get their way. Happy Ka-boom!

BTW, the company I work for laid off over a hundred engineers and tecnicians, the Monday after the sequestration went into effect. But, it's just scare tactics, right? Right? Completely a coincidence....(mmhmm) Tell those people that it's a slow burn! It's always not such a big deal, when we aren't the ones canned...[censored]

    Mr. Riley is sooooooooooooooooooo right.

The TV Media, the News Magazine Media and the Newspaper Media (not one Conservative Newspaper in Arizona....not one) are nothing but Liberal Lick-Spittles for Obama and the Leftist Democrats.

Obama knew exactly where every dollar was going to be cut when he signed the 2011 Budget Act into Law.

The Military Services and every single Department of the Federal Government had the list of their Offices that were going to be cut and the exact dollar amount of the cuts.

FOLKS.........THE MILITARY AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAVE HAD 549 DAYS TO MAKE A PLAN AS TO WHERE THE CUTS WOULD BE IN ORDER TO HAVE THE LEAST AFFECT ON THE ...."CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES".

MILLIONS OF AMERICAN CITIZENS HAVE SEEN ..PAY REDUCTIONS....FURLOUGHS....LOSS OF MEDICAL, VACATION AND OTHER BENEFITS BECAUSE OF THE RECESSION.......NOW IT'S TIME FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WORKERS AND THE WORKERS WHO'S JOBS DEPEND ON FEDERAL PROGRAMS TO SHARE EQUALLY WITH THE AMERICAN CITIZENS IN SACRIFICE...........SO STOP WITH THE LIES AND THE WHINING. FEDERAL WORKERS AND GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIZED WORKERS HAVE ALWAYS EARNED BIG BUCKS AND JOB SECURITY....WELL THOSE DAYS ARE OVER....NOW YOU ARE JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE AMERICAN WORKERS.

    Harry,
You are right, things are a boiling. But when the dollars loses it value then you can expect the eruption. Those that think this deficit and debt can go on forever are going to have a rude awakening.

Hell yes. It is only a matter of time. I think that some states will ether quit the union or tell Washington to go buss off, we are going to do things our way from now on. Some states, such as Calif, will brake apart and become two or three states. Now that's if we don't have a 2nd civil war, then anything could happen.

Ateam1 ..Being that you voted for Bush twice I take it that you never had any concern for the skyrocketing deficit then. And now that the aftershocks of Bush's reckless spending on two wars and tax cuts, that have never happened at a time of war before, and depleted revenue that spilled over into Obama's terms...now you're concerned? Bush's policies have bankrupted this nation and also allowed millions of American jobs to be outsourced to foreign countries putting middle class workers on foodstamps and welfare programs. And for that you blame Obama? You can see the effects but you fail to see the cause....You're just now comming out of a stupor that was brought on by a steady diet of Freedom Fries, and fear of Evil Doers. You bought into the whole "They hate us for our freedom" B.S. Don't live in the United States of Amnesia, The old Republican Party used to be about taking responsibility for your actions, I guess they don't anymore.

    No.

And what on Earth are you doing, Riley, writing to a newspaper in east Maricopa County, Arizona when you live in Florida? Why do you not respond to ANY of the 16 comments herein? Acting like hit and run?

Could it be that you are just a troll spewing spam where ever it might land?

Truth, if a person works 4 days a week, his salary is not CUT, but reduced by 20%.
That is as it should be, because he only worked 80% of the normal time.

Do you want these lackeys to get full pay for part-time work?

Abstract01..Cut, reduced, lessened, decreased, diminished, shrunk that's just all symantics. Bottomline is his income has shrunk by 20%. The mortgage company, the bank he has his car loan from, the grocery store and the gas station all still expect to be paid the same as they had before. You call these people "lackeys" because they've been put into a position by no fault of thier own ?

It looks like the liberals, the evil media, the elected officials, and a myriad of talking heads have all ganged up on Harry. Now the sky is falling and he has decided to go clucking the news to whoever will listen. And it’s all because of those bad guys in the White House who control the media. What happened with Harry? Did he just wake up from a coma after sleeping for a hundred years or so? Technology has changed but politics and messages haven’t.

Read a little history Harry. Look up the arguments and compromises that brought us the Constitution. Look up Tom Paine’s “Common Sense”, Paul Revere and the Sons of Liberty. Every decision and compromise since had both advocates and opponents. Political squabbles are a healthy part of our democratic process. Such discourse, Harry, is not a threat to the country.

While you’re writing to Arizona to tell us about that piece of sky that hit you on the head, tell us how you’re going to solve the Florida problem of prescription drug factories that export oxycodone to the rest of the country with impunity. That’s a real problem, Harry, and it’s right in your own back yard.

I am always glad when our liberal friends point out that the Bush Administration was the root of all evil. For the moment, lets agree. What has President Obama done to fix it? If he was so inclined, stop both wars on day two of his presidency. If he was so inclined, raise taxes to the moon (which is where they would need be to balance 1 Trillion upsidedown yearly). All we can see is that what he has done hasn't yet fixed anything. Then all he can suggest is to raise taxes and not touch spending. Who believes that is the road to success and fixing the economy?

And aptly named "Bubba", why do you think jobs go over seas? Perhaps it has to do with unions that want the guy who puts hubcaps on the car to make 100K, full healthcare benefit for him and family and retirement at 55. If you run a business, it becomes an easy decision if those are your options. Better yet, ask most business owners how all the President Obama "policy improvements" have effected them. They you will get the real answer.

Well, inaptly named V of Reason (I assume the V stands for voice?). jobs go overseas because the average Chinese factory worked is paid 25,000 yaun per year, which equates to $3600, or $300 per month. This number is reached by averaging the low paid line worker with the higher paid factory supervisor's wages. How is the American middle class worker supposed to compete with that? Can you live on $300 per month before taxes? And no, nobody has ever made 100K putting on hubcaops. Your ridiculous claim is unfounded. But this all gets away from my original comment that the ones that are the most hypercritical of Obama can't see where the cause to all this effect originated, making their sense of judgement skewed. VofReason, you and Ateam1 have proven my point quite well. Thank you. There is no need for me to comment any further because to qoute Thomas Paine: To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.

Interesting. So you are saying that the American middle class and the uneducated line worker at a Chinese factory are really in competition for the same job. Maybe your theory is right. I can only guess that China doesn't spend $1000s of dollars a year for the education of every child in the country and have the vast "resources" of an equivalent department of education at their disposal. So on par, functionally our middle class should be more inclined to be competing with their middle class- not a factory worker. Perhaps the better statement is to disabuse the low educated and low skilled workers here of the thought that it is going to lead to an empowered existance.

In case no one has noticed, the budget for this year is larger than last year, in spite of the sequester. That tells me that we are being played, successfully it seems. Any cuts being made are for Obama agenda and nothing else.

Ahh, Spived, didn't you notice that the population of the country grew from last year to this. Guess what; if you have another kid your expenses go up.

Unless, f course, you forget about feeding him or her.
