One way for Phoenix to balance its budget would be to fire the 250-plus corrupt Phoenix police officers on the “Brady List.” Based on the starting police salary of about $50,000 a year that would free up much more then $12.5 million.
The “Brady List” is a result of the Supreme Court decision “Brady v. Maryland” that requires police departments to put police officers who are too dishonest or corrupt to testify in court on the “Brady List,” which is really a list of corrupt, dishonest cops.
About 7 percent, or 250-plus of the 3,500 Phoenix police officers, are considered dishonest and corrupt enough to go on the “Brady List.”
Why the city of Phoenix didn’t fire these corrupt cops years ago is beyond me! I suspect the police unions are just too powerful.
