Susan Stamper Brown’s commentary of Feb. 13 (“Obama administration: Going Jack Bauer on us”) had the following statement in it:
“Lest we forget,, they put out the “Right-wing extremists” watch list in 2009 secretly informing police forces to look out for those who love God, celebrate freedom, adhere to wholesome values, and cherish the Constitution.”
I found that list on the Internet. It was an unclassified warning by Homeland Security about the possible resurgence of white supremacist and violent antigovernment groups (with references to the Oklahoma City bombing) during the Great Recession and following the election of a black president.
Did you read this commentary? Do you support its inflammatory rhetoric? It seems to me that Stamper Brown’s so-called “commentaries” go way over the journalistic (red) line.

George, Ms SSB commentary is a product of her rabble rousing blog. It has nothing to do with journalism.

This is her style. Put forth a fact, but lace it with a back slap. Then, pretend to sympathize, while taking a small chunk of context, and emphasizing it to a grandiose scale.
It's a common ploy, for extremists of any political leaning...

Commentaries are, by definition, opinionated and aren't held to the standards of journalism. They are, instead, debated in fora such as this.
At the bottom line, the problem is that people are generally intellectually lazy and prefer to lump people together, rather than have to consider any sort of nuance.
In the liberal mind, for example, right wing extremists who blow up buildings are lumped together with anybody who suggests that Obama is nothing more than a power hungry politician.

In the conservative mind, for example, left wing extremists who hug trees are lumped together with anybody who suggests that Obama is doing what he promised when he was elected POTUS not once but twice.

Folks, Susan Stamper Brown was correct when she cited Obama's Democrat Department of Homeland Security Secretary, our very own Janet "Open Borders" Napolitano.
One of the chapters in the "unclassified" April 9, 2009, Domestic Violence Assessment is titled....."DISGRUNTLED MILITARY VETERANS".
"After Operation Desert Shield/Storm in 1990-1991 some returning military veterans (including Timothy McVeigh) joined or associated with rightwing extremist groups.
A prominent civil rights organization reported in 2006 that large numbers of potentially violent neo-Nazis, skinheads, and other white supremacists are now learning the art of warfare in the (U.S.) Armed Forces.
The FBI noted in a 2008 report on the white supremacist movement that some returning military veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have joined extremist groups."
This disgusting, Left-Wing Liberal "Official United States Department of Homeland Security Assessment" also mentioned returning US Military Veterans who were ...."disgruntled, disillusioned, or suffering from psychological effects of war".
Shame on Janet Napolitano and shame on the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama.

Better to keep your head where the sun never shines, eh, leon? I don't mean in the sand.

sockratties, yes, of course, most conservatives are also intellectually lazy. Most people are. That's how people like Obama get elected.

Extreme statement, probably. Interestingly though the OKC bombing occurred almost 20 years ago and becomes the common reference for possibility whenever the Tea Party gets together in large numbers. Though McVey wasn't in the Tea Party and to my knowledge I haven't heard any reasonable "conservative" ever support him. Strangly and currently, whenever obvious mentally challenged individuals go on killing rampages, we do hear that everyone who owns a gun is a potential danger and tougher laws that theoretically will reduse the number of guns in hands of law abiding citizens will solve it.

SSB is an idiot. She is as radical as they get. Kathi Herrod radical, and Kathi Babe belongs in another country, that's how radical she is. Oh, did I say racist, too, with a capital R.
Susie, Honey, your'e just a sad little frustrated honey bun, looking for a life.
Leon, after making a sane remark the other day, you have reverted back to radical fanatism, as usual.

Yes DTR, we should have more solid centrists like John Beydler, Tina Dupey and Mike McC fill the pages here. They are always so unbias and spot on with where the real problems are- with the GOP.

I did not read the SSB commentary so I won't comment on that ,but I will say that I agree with Leon.
Obama and Janet and almost all on the left are disgusting when it comes to AMERICANS .
Don't quote me on this I might have the name wrong but I believe it was Stallan that said we will destroy America without firing a shot. All we have to do is infiltrate the Democrat party their views are close to ours and here we are 50 years later and the demcrats are forfilling Stallans dream.

smartvoter: boy you sure missed the mark chosing your name.
You really think the Democrats are destroying the country?
It is Republicans who refuse to pay taxes to pay the bills created by a Republican administration that refused to raise taxes to pay for Bush's follies in Iraq and Afghanistan.
It is Republicans who put the nation so far in debt.
It was Republican bankers who created the fiscal crisis with their immoral financial dealings on Wall Street and it was Republican bankers who created the housing crisis.
It is Republican ( mostly ) factory owners who are sending American jobs overseas so they can make greater profits.
It is, once again, mostly Republican business owners who entice the illegals to invade our country so they can give American jobs to people who will work for less than the minimum wage.
Democrats destroying the country ---- ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
I may be laughing but it ain't funny.

Willie- once again you are completly wrong. It was the democrats that took control of congress in the last 2 years of G. W.Bush being in office.
The democrats were in control of the purce strings not the republicans but nice try.
As for the wars in case you have fogtten we were ATTACKED. I have never heard you on the left criticise FDR for getting us into a war. (but thats ok because he was a DEM.)
As for the fiscal crisis and the housing crisis they were created by Barney Frank and Chris Dod (I think I spelled his last name wrong I'm not sure) both democrats.
How do you know that all the factoy owners are republicans ? That's a stretch of the imagination.
By your statement I must assume that not one business in this country is run by a democrat.
As for the minimum wage -raised by the democrats so now everything in this country costs more, just another stupid move by the demos.
So in closing Willie it is not the republicans fault but that of the DEMOCRATS. But you just go ahead and keep blameing someone else just like your KING does.
