A heaping dose of ‘Government Relations 101’

Legislative anarchy? Subversion of Democracy? Unadulterated Insanity?

Pick any one, they all are fitting descriptions of the "national embarrassment" taking place in the lower house of Congress.

Forcing the layoff of hundreds of thousands of federal workers and then granting them back pay, essentially paying them to take an nice, several week vacation while almost nothing is getting done; just to make a stand against a law that will end many of the private insurer abuses and allow millions of American citizens to finally afford to have health insurance? A law that was passed by both houses of Congress, signed by the President and upheld by the Supreme Court and further endorsed by the re-election of President Obama last fall, and the far-right wing still doesn’t “get it?”

By “get it,” I mean this: We live in a democracy where the majority ‘usually’ rules and you may not always like the end result, but the path to that result “must be” based on the premise of majority rule!

So Republicans, the way to change something you don’t like is “not” to hold the nation hostage to your demands, but to “become” the majority.

You all need a heaping dose of Government Relations 101 to heal that swelling of your brains! It has badly damaged your hopes of ever becoming ‘the majority” in the near future!

But “holding your breath” until you “get your way” is NOT a precedent ANY democracy can afford to let happen!
