Social Security is slashing its checks by changing the formula for calculating the average income on which payouts are based. Instead of using the top 10 earning years, they are now using the average of 35 years of earnings. My top 10 year average is over $50,000 per year and my top 35 year average is just over $20,000. My crime: switching to part-time work while my children were young and now switching from full-time to part-time work to care for an ill and disabled husband. This change is discriminatory to women since they are the primary care-givers in families!

Sue Lee,
Concerning "Social Security changes cost women dearly"
Social Security (SS) calculations aren't always simple, but the 35 year average does play a major role in the SS calculation. If you've worked 35 years with earnings at a high level, and you’ve worked part time and have earnings lower than the lowest year in your prior history . . . SS says the additional year, or years, will be ignored because it isn't one of the 35 highest years.

I feel for those who paid in and now are getting jerked around on the back end. The truth is they should quit taking it from us and quit falsly promising that it will be there later

Blame GOP ex-Prez Jorge "No_Cajones" Bushwhacker, ex-U.S. Senator Barack OBAMANATION (D, IL), U.S. Senator Juan "McAmnesty" McCain (R, AZ), U.S. Congressman Jeff "The" Flake (R, District 6, AZ) for voting for the "Social Security Totalization Act of 2007"...which gaveaway U.S. Social Security Retirement Trust Fund benefits to legal/illegal foreign nationals (India, MX, China, Canada, etc.) employed by U.S. based multinational corporations (GE, GM, FORD, Citicorp, etc.). Ex-GOP U.S. Senators Phil Graham & Rudman tried to get Congress to "privatize" Social Security retirement trust funds in Mutual Fund Stock Market accounts. It that was done as the Graham-Rudman boneheads suggested, the U.S. Social Security Trust Fund assets would have been wiped out & stolen by the criminal U.S. Wall St. BANKSTER$ with their fraudulent mortgage-backed securities CDOs & CDSs, having yet to be persecuted &/or jailed for their crimes.

Re-letter from Sue Lee relating to social security discriminating against women.
Further discrimination against women, note 49 year old female and 49 year old man
both filing for the same type of health care with the same company. Both do not have any pre existing health problems. The woman pays $49 dollars more per month than the man. Discriminatory m'thinks so.
