My family and friends love to go to Box Canyon near Florence.
The scenery is absolutely stunning. There is one thing that mars this beautiful canyon and that is trash. There are beer and soda cans, shotgun shells, glass containers, tires, and loads of other items (including graffiti). I think the state should close it down until it gets cleaned up. When we go out I carry an extra bag to take out more trash than I bring in. It may not matter or make any difference but I want to continue to see this country and all of its wonderful glory not trashed and I want my great-great-grandchildren to do the same. We are not originally from here but I love Arizona and the scenery.

Talk out about over reacting. Close access? The offroad clubs generally do a clean up a few times a year. I go out there all the time it's not an issue that requires "the government" to close it. Pack it in Pack it out, it's that simple.

Too many filthy people visit Box Canyon with no respect for one another or the land we share and enjoy. I agree - close it down and have people register and pay for a day use key to get in.
