Regarding the new Riverview Park ... what happened to our beloved parkland? You know, the soft and hilly scene with big, shaded trees and wildlife-friendly pond? I went to the opening and the view is bleak and sterile, all flatland save for the children’s area. Trees are lined on cement paths and ornamental (non-shade) trees abound in a soldiered fashion. Sterility is the feeling that comes from it for myself and neighbors: bleak and not very friendly or well-thought-out to make people even want to visit. Come summer, I think no one will go there. By the way, many saplings are dead or dying and the lawn will be incredibly expensive to keep alive. I am truly disappointed, especially looking at the taxpayers’ money blown on this train wreck.
