Wake up San Tan Valley residents. Do you have any idea what a village is? Have you ask for actual facts and figures on the cost to the homeowner. Have you investigated the village concept? Would you rather be a village or a city? In a city, you will have representation; it costs of course but you will have a choice of who represents you. Where is the choice in a village?

About villages... This concept began in Boston's Beacon Hill in 2001. In this model, residents are assessed a yearly fee in return for information on where or whom will supply the services needed, such as repair work, etc.. There are paid employees that act as a concierge. This yearly fee will not get you a fire department or public transportation, nor will companies locate here to provide jobs. You have no choice.

It is a right of every citizen in the USA to vote and the citizens of San Tan Valley have lost that right. Are you living in a communistic community? Right now you only have the right to pay and pay and pay. It's time to take a stand. Veto the village concept; its not for an area with over 60,000 individuals.

I lived in Nanking Mills, Michigan a while ago. When a large shopping center was built the town incorporated and changed it's name to reflect it's location (Westland), and the problems, the budget, and the bankrupt schools erupted from that point.

Sounds like I have a lot to learn about this "village" concept of municiple governance!

    Tell us more!

Doesn't sound like Ms. Motlok has ever been to any fo the village meetings or visited the web site (azpcta.org). I would further suggest that she research the villages that are presently functioning in our own state, and check out the facts as to how they operate.

I honestly haven't heard about this village thing but my first reaction is to wonder if this is another attempt by the Johnson Ranch folks to get their way to have their own little kingdom? They have failed twice, so is this their newest tact?
