The Tortilla Flat campground with 77 campsites in the Tonto National Forest is going to be shut down for the winter because of lack of funding. How is it the government has enough money to give foreign aid to every cut-throat country in the world but can’t come up with enough money to run a campground for the American taxpayers to use?

    Robert,
I agree we need to cut both the campground money and the foreign aid. Cut til it hurts then cut some more. Stop the deficit spending, stop big government and let a free market to it's thing, make money and jobs.

Hmmm, doesn't the state of AZ pay for 53% of the births that occur each year now. I think that may have a closer correlation then what the Fed gives to foriegn countries- though that is likely a waste in many cases. Why does the state think that if they have to pay for the birth of the child that the "parents" are going to figure out how to pay for raising the child. How about paying for all women collecting welfare to be on a safe and reverseable birth control like Norplan while they collect welfare? How can you be financially responsible to raise a child if you cannot afford to birth one?

Yeah, what's wrong with our priorites? Giving money to those who have no food, clothing, or aren't born with the USA Prime stamped on their rears! Outrageous, that we can't go camping! (wah! wah!!)

Ya'll do realise that this way of thinking is the madness that makes "pork barrel" spending continue, right?

What about me? Mine? Comparing two totally unrelated things, and expecting a fairness...

Bluepoet - the corrupt leaders of those nations have food and clothing. Many eat food and wear clothing that you and I cannot afford.

In fact, they live a lavish lifestyle unknown to most Americans. I realize that many Americans are sheltered from the truth, but if you're going to make a claim on a public forum, at least have the fortitude to support said claim.

And, what does the corruption of a foreign country have to do with a campground in Arizona?

Why bring up a contrast of two unrelated things, as an example of government waste, when there are plenty of direct domestic examples?

Your jaded view of other countries aside, what is your idea of diplomacy? War? Isolationism?

This is a public forum of opinion. That's what I post--my opinion. My "fortitude", or lack of it, is none of your concern, Enraged Vocoder...
