Whiney,
Welcome back!
At first pass, you might have a valid point here. The President has not done anything about comprehensive immigration reform. But what might he have done? Nothing! He spent most of his "Political Capital" on the issue which became his when Teddy Kennedy endorsed him over Hillary, Healthcare Reform.
If you are a Hispanic, you might resent this. Heck, the LGBT community is upset over the lack of follow threw the President have given their issues. But the irrefutable and uncontrovertable truth is that no Republican will be doing more for the causes these folks champion than woud the President. So when the President commences his pandering for their votes, their choice is to vote for him and hope or in dispair not vote at all.
On second pass, once more your entire piece becomes what we've come expect from you, whinning!

This is hilarious. "Winey" finds room to criticize Obama's lack of action on immigration reform while ignoring his own boy's serial flip flopping on the same issue.
To wit:
In 2005, in a Boston Globe interview, Mitt Romney called McCain's immigration plan "reasonable." And he supported Bush's immigration plan. Now, he wants to round 'em up.
In 2004, on vetoing in-state tuition for illegal immigrants: " I hate the idea of in any way making it more difficult for kids, even those who are illegal aliens, to afford college in our state."
As Governor, he did nothing to counteract the 4 cities in Mass. that declared themselves "sanctuary cities."
Two months ago, he ripped Perry for the Texas version of the Dream Act, but just last week in Florida, he called for a "Republican version of the Dream Act."
As to "winey's" criticism of Obama immigration reform -- yes, Obama's basically ignored one part of reform -- what to do with immigrants currently in the U.S. -- but as to more secured borders:
There are far more Border Patrol agents now than in 2008, there are drones flying over both Texas and Arizona now that weren't flying over those two states in 2008, and there have been more illegal immigrants deported by Obama.
So, what "winey" is really whining about is, again hilarious -- what to do with the ones already here. SB 1070 has had some effect, no doubt, but as "winey" should know, SB 1070 was passed as the economy tanked. So the question becomes, how much effect did a tanking economy have on "self-deportation" and how much 1070 had? No one can say, because no one can distinguish between the two in terms of their effects.
Bottom line:
"Winey" is clueless, Russell Pearce will appear before the Senate next week and make a horse's behind out of himself (but I"m being redundant) and 1070 will be overturned by the Supreme Court.
Which'll give Romney ammunition to say, "See what happens when you allow a socialist to appoint other socialists to the Supreme Court."
Except, of course, when he's speaking in a state with a large Hispanic population. In which case, he'll be for a Republican Dream Act.

This America is the land of opportunity, but only if you play by the rules? For farmers and agricultural communities, there must be a well regulated system of arrival and departure, not the mess provided now. ARE AMERICANS IN PERPETUITY GOING TO BE FORCED BY UNFUNDED MANDATES, TO PAY THE COSTS OF EVERY ILLEGAL ALIEN WHO SWARMS ACROSS THE BORDER OR ARRIVES HERE ON A TEMPORARY VISA WITH NO INTENTIONS TO LEAVE? There is nothing standing in the way of any Guest Worker, to disappear from his job and end up in the job marketplace, where illegal aliens are paid in cash with no taxes taken. In furtherance special visas should be expedited for top professionals in Science, Engineering and a whole range of high technology, given us the brain clout for a futuristic U.S, but we must spend the money to check on females who are carrying an unborn infant, with new detection systems at entry ports, as 400.000 arrivals are ready to conceive annually and apply for welfare. Just calculate the uncompensated cost to hospitals that have to pay for this delivery? By the Congress just amending the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2011 (H.R.140) the country could discontinue this billion dollar soaking of individual states?
Then just as viable and with a high success rate is the introduction of Verify (H.R. 2885) – Chairman Lamar Smith's 'Legal Workforce Act'. Every worker hired would be eligible, if they are not flagged by the employers hook-up to the Social Security and Homeland Security databases. Those declined can fortunately travel to the SSA to get clearance for their new job. Foreign illegal workers would not go to any government agency anyway, as it would be futile and dangerous. Just these two laws could make a remarkable difference to our countries economy, as these persons would soon find that seeking work would be impossible. Personal ID theft would be reduced, other than crimes of credit fraud and other reprehensible activities.
As for the controversial issue of the ‘DREAM ACT’ for granting a quick passage of illegal alien children will not be Fair? Backlogs of thousands of people wait patiently for years, sometimes as much as 10 years to receive an entry visa. The U.S. public is charitable and fervent in their giving and the biggest philanthropist in the world. But we cannot continue to fight distant wars and take in every desperate pauper from any corner of the world. We must stop printing money and make a giant effort to remove illegal aliens by ATTRITION BY ENFORCEMENT.
Marco Rubio may be providing a less tough immigration enforcement ideology to Romney, but it will mean a loss of votes? For the last generation the poverty has accelerated, the financial costs are still rising to new levels. Our Socialist president promises to unite this country, but divided it even more. Assimilation in language and culture is fading, and thanks to the Liberal Legislators ‘Balkanization’ is on the way, as regions of the United States are hostile to each other and refusing to cooperate with the central government such as Sanctuary Cities. This cause and effect in Arizona, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana and less so in other overrun states by foreign nationals, who are soaking the state taxpayers.
The outright blame goes to the present administration and its predecessors who just were compromised by the special interest whose greed and profits, was able to coerce the politicians with money. The rising anger against the Congress is not receding, as they have failed by their behavior to stop the tide of illegal immigration. There is new misdirection that illegal immigrants jumping fences or traveling here on temporary entry visas is slowed, but don’t tell that to Sheriffs and land owners along the border region? Mitt Romney already stated that unauthorized workers would “Self Deport” when employment cannot be located. Businesses owners and management that don’t follow the law could lose business licenses, profits, be fined and even end in a prison cell.
In the coming months before the presidential elections we must be vigilant, as the outcome could be vulnerable to non citizens voting in massive amounts? In Colorado, the Administration’s Elections subcommittee disclosed that 5000 non citizens voted and 12000 non citizens were register to vote. This is serious situation especially in close races at state and local level? Illegal Immigrant voters along with legal immigrants that are barred from voting have been detected voting in Florida. This joins confirmed intelligence of sizable numbers of non citizens voting in Georgia and Colorado! Each illegal alien or non citizen immigrant that registers to vote is committing a federal felony. Each illegal alien or non citizen immigrant that votes and thus steals a vote from an American citizen is committing a second felony. The problem is that many states do not check to perceive if voters are in the US as immigrants or legal and the illegal immigration amnesty and open borders supporters know this crazy notion? The only way to halt any non citizens voting, is to institute either a National Picture ID card, or every lawful citizen-legal resident an official ID to display, that can be checked through a visa type system. It seems hardly feasible that one illegal immigrant in Florida admitted to a television interviewer that she had been voting in elections since 2009.
And is there any truth that Spain, a European country counting our votes in November? It is a national security nightmare of a globalist magnitude to have any foreign tabulation company to count our votes in November? The company SCYTL has been contracted to do just that. I am not one for conspiracies, but don’t the general public see something very fishy with this situation or am I just paranoid? How could our President or any Congress allow such a thing? Is this is a total violation of our sovereignty, protection and in my view freedoms?
The best hope with have is to elect TEA PARTY (the Centralist Conservatives and U.S. Constitutional leaders) who have a different approach to every issue, who have credibility in the free competitive business enterprise, self reliance on our own abundance of oil, natural gas and clean coal; but not discounting wind and solar energy. Huge deposits await us that are so plentiful, we can supply it to Europe and other friendly countries. Throw out of political office the purveyors who are selling us out to special interests, union bosses, and church hierarchy, big business and groups like La Raza, who believe in succession of the Southwest to their totalitarian government.

Mike and Dale: There are folks who actually believe in enforcement of our immigration laws contrary to the "whiney" liberals who want to roll over to the Hispanics.
Mike McClellan posted at 8:54 pm on Sat, Apr 21, 2012.
samkat, would those folks include Romney? How can you tell? One month, he wants "attrition by enforcement." The next month, he wants a "Republican version of the Dream Act."
By the by, hasn't Obama had the most enthusiastic border enforcement of any modern President? I don't remember Bush putting drones on the border, I don't remember Bush adding so many Border Patrol, and I certainly don't remember his administration deporting as many illegal immigrants as the Obama ICE has.
Clinton certainly didn't, nor did Bush I, nor did St. Ronnie, the Pres who signed a real live amnesty bill in 1986,
So what laws do you have in mind? Are you upset that the Obama Administration prioritizes deporting illegals who've committed crimes in our country?
samkat posted at 9:54 am on Sun, Apr 22, 2012.
Mike: Lets start with the last point first. Reagan was duped by the Democrats into signing off on the 1986 amnesty of a much smaller scale. The 1986 act had all of the provisions to implement a large scale immigration enforcement act which they promptly shelved by denying the funding to back it up. His gears were already slipping even before he left office so lets give him a little slack. :-)
Now, as for Obama and Queen Nappy, it is all shell and no substance. Everyday, we read of incidents where the illegals and drugs are being intercepted on our highways and in our cities. Drop houses are still located and raided regularly. Now just how did they slip through if we have such tight controls on the border? Why do we still have signs up along I-8 warning our citizens to not venture onto federal park land if they value their safety? Why do we have frequent reports of career criminals showing up in Tucson and Phoenix as well as other U.S. cities just days or weeks after having been deported?
Obama has recently created several executive orders preventing illegals from being deported yet he will not create one that universally enforces E-Verify. I actually self verified and E-Verify is not that difficult. It took me all of two minutes to answer the questions although it did cause me to think about some of the background questions. Stop the employment and cut the social services if you want to slow the invasion. No jobs and no social services will go a long way towards eliminating the problem.
Now as to the prioritization, perhaps you choose to ignore that probably 99% + of the illegals are using fraudulent official state and federal official documents as well as stolen identity which is a felony offense. Why is the Obama administration ignoring such acts? Would you also tell me why we have over 8 million illegals in the work force while at the same time we have over 14 million legal Americans out of work and an estimated 18 million working less than full time while actively seeking full time employment? Who would you rather see employed, one of your illegals or a legal American?
I watched a congressional hearing just the other day where a woman was testifying about her 5 year old son's stolen identity by a Mexican illegal. She went through several frustrating years trying to get local, state and federal officials to take action. She actually found the woman who admitted she had stolen the kid's identity and was unconcerned about it since the authorities in Utah would not take action. The Social Security Administration was unconcerned and certainly not helpful. There are many documented stories about people who have had their credit ruined and the IRS coming after them for unpaid taxes on earnings credited to their account by illegals.
My wife was a commercial collector for years and whenever they would run a skip trace, it was not uncommon to come up with 30 or more individuals using the same social security number. Most of them had Hispanic surnames and valid current addresses. If the feds were really interested in rounding up people who had committed identity theft, it would not be difficult to locate them as they are hiding in plain sight. How would you react if you or a member of your household was subjected to identity theft?
These kinds of issues have surfaced time and time again. Sadly, liberals like yourself make apologies for the illegals and hide your heads in the sand about the consequences of yet another amnesty. Doing so would only create yet another wave of illegal immigration.
Now, I am going to deflect the question to you. What would you do about the illegal immigration problem and what laws would you see that need to be enforced or strengthened? We obviously cannot stand by and allow unabated illegal migration of unskilled, uneducated people to constantly flow into our country. Legal immigration is and has always been a part of our culture. However, in the past it was controlled.
Now, as to Romney, at least he did enforce state laws on illegal immigration when he was governor. Please tell me with a straight face that Obama has not backpedaled on numerous occasions.

samkat, here's where you and I will agree: I agree that we should come down hard on those employers who hire illegal immigrants.
But have you noticed this? How many Arizona employers have received any kind of sanction with our current Arizona law about nailing employers who hire illegals?
Fewer than five. So how serious are our Enforcement Only folks about enforcing Arizona law? They love to round up the illegal employees; the employers, though, seem to get a pass.
Which is another reason why we need a more comprehensive reform plan.

A brilliant outline Brittanicus & you've hit on my concerns. With the Obama thug machine in full swing I don't believe there's anything his group will stoop to win this election. The "Hope & Change" he sold the gullible is socialism-and he needs another term to see it through. To heck with ID's - everyone gets to vote!

Sheriff Joe can't charge business that hire ILLEGALS, but he can get the goods (and has) on them...

Can't we actually enforce the Border? If we do that, many more options seem to come to the table. Can someone define what comprehensive immigration reform is? Every person I hear say it makes me think it means let'em all in.
