“Why does the self-proclaimed “toughest Sheriff in America” need 24-hour, seven-days-a-week bodyguard protection at taxpayer expense?”

“The Affordable Care Act is law, having cleared all applicable hurdles. What is there to compromise with the Republicans to shut down government? Can we repeal the Wall Street bailout? Can I repeal my 401(k) losses?”

“Even if Obamacare signs up just one person thats one more than the Republican plan. In terms they can understand: if they want my Obamacare they will have to pry it from my cold dead hands.”

“Were I truly being held hostage, I would never — after hearing and seeing the reports from Washington — never-ever choose the leadership of the Democrats to negotiate my release!”

“Regarding the government shutdown/debt ceiling: I think Congress should focus on one issue at a time. They’ve shown that they’re not intelligent enough for more than that.”
