I so agree with Gary Larson’s letter comparing California with Arizona financially. I am originally from Arizona, but have had to live in California due to my husband’s job, and I can not emphasize enough how badly California compares to Arizona. I am marking the days on my calendar till I can move back home. I visit my family here often and can see the differences.

Without a doubt, the liberals running California are destroying it.

I beg all the citizens of Arizona, if you love Arizona, remember what Gary said when you vote in November.

The problem with the Radical Right is they do not believe in compromise. Many legislators have committed to the Goldwater Institute to "never" consider raising taxes. One of the reasons the state is in the black now is because the voters had to do what the legislature could not a couple of years ago... they passed the one cent sales tax. You call that leadership.

    Sisson,

And how big of a calendar do you have?

Years ago I heard a statistic that interested me. It seems that there was a net migration into California from the east and midwest. But for Californians, the outward migration is to Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Idaho, not back east.

I've never been to Portland but have heard that it's wonderful there. Perhaps your husband's work could take you there and you could give us a report. Does anyone else out there have first hand experience in Portland? Or does everyone going there stay there?

Um, Dale, are you aware that Portland is is Oregon and not California?

Um, ya mrconservative, Portland is in Oregon. Portland is also 'liberal' as is most of Oregon. I believe that Oregon has met a balanced budget that is part of state law.

And California Government looks more and more like President Obama's vision for America each day. Wonder how that would end?

Hmm, she's praising Arizona and blasting California -- but yet she moved to California so her husband could have a job.

Someone remind me --- what's the definition of irony?

Great low tax Arizona == state with no jobs
Awful high tax California == state with people moving there for the jobs
