I am a firm believer in freedom of speech and expression, however I do not understand why there is not stricter zoning in most towns in the East Valley.

Tattoo and body piercing parlors, adult stores, etc., seem to be popping up everywhere and anywhere. Has everyone become so politically correct that they are blind to the environment these types of businesses bring to a community? Lets be honest: how many families want to live next to any of these types of businesses?

Why is there not a requirement that they be located further away from residential areas and schools? I have lived many places in the United States and Arizona is one of the most beautiful, but we seem to be allowing it to be trashed.

On the east coast so many once-family towns were turned into wastelands because no one stopped certain types of businesses from moving in. The not-so-respectable businesses moved in and the tax-paying home owners moved out. The towns that allowed this to happen became places people did not want to go, no matter how nice they made the building and landscape. I am heartbroken to see this same thing happening to the beautiful new East Valley communities. Does anyone else see this alarming trend?
