“I’ve seen so many champions for the unborn the past couple of weeks and I find it very commendable. But champions for the 18 years after the womb disappear like shadows after sunset. Especially so with lawmakers. Show me a nine month champion I’ll show you three 18-year deserters.”

“The person that stated that Brewer, Pearce, etc. should use their religion when making laws and proclamations, is forgetting that our constitution states that there is separation of church and state. A good politician keeps religion out of it. That should also happen when talking about abortion and gay marriage. Oh, I am not gay, never had an abortion and pray.”

“What’s the difference between what the Republicans and the Democrats will be talking about at their conventions? The Republicans will be talking about getting free from debt. The Democrats willing be talking about getting free stuff!”

“The reason the GOP is so upset with Congressman Todd Akin is because he jumped the gun. Legitimate rape and other classifications were not supposed to be public until Romney and Ryan were sworn in. Then women could more easily be stoned by hurling one law after another.”

“Romney has made so many political about-faces to schmooze his way into the Oval Office that we are getting perpetual whiplash just keeping up with him!”

“To the Venter who thinks I must be, or related to, letter writer Rod Livdhal, I have never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Livdhal. I just Googled his name. To the Venter who thinks I must be a liberal, I consider myself to be a combination of a Libertarian and Progressive. And the Venter must be the opposite of a Progressive which is a Regressive.”

“Isn’t it ironic that next to the column written by leftist Mike McClellan proclaiming the untruths uttered by political candidates, there is a cartoon issued by leftist Fitzsimmons that perfectly illustrates the lies being told on the Left.”

    Vent #1: Blah, blah and what did you say????

    Vent #2: Your right a good politician keeps religion out of it. And the government should stay out of the womb.

    Vent #3: There are many differences and it's up to the voters to decide which way our country will go. Hopefully not over the cliff.

    Vent #4: The GOP is upset with Akin because of his misspoken words for which he acknowledged as wrong and apologized for. The liberals and MSM never forgive a republican for misspoken words but give out free passes to democrats when they misspeak.

    Vent #5: Please list the "about faces" that Romney has done over the last decade and we can compare them to the "about faces" of Obama just during the last couple of years.

    Vent #6: Wrong. The opposite of Progressive is Conservative. A libertarian believes in individual freedom and small government, while a progressive believes in bigger government and less individual freedom. If you are a combination of both then you must be very angry with yourself because of all the internal conflict.

    Vent #7: Hey don't pick on Mike it's not his fault. Everything is George W Bush's fault.............. man is that line getting old. LOL

    Chatman:

    I'll give you 7 Romney about-faces. They are not even arguable (so it would be funny if you tried to argue them and I sincerely hope you do not waste your time as "Your Man" Romney has spoken out of both sides of his mouth on the following):

    1. His willingness to join the forces in Vietman;
    2. His father's supposed march with MLK;
    3. His position on abortion rights;
    4. His position on Stem cell research;
    5. Something as mundane as whether he likes to hunt;
    6. Healthcare mandates; and
    7. Whether the minimum wage should be raised.

    Let's face it, your guy flip flops. He says what he is told to say or what he thinks the people want to hear. Now, I'd like to see the supposed Obama about-faces.

    Vent #3: Yes, let's get out of debt the "Mitt Romney" way. The "Mitt Romney" way (based on his actions to "save" Bain Capital" when he took it over): force banks and the FDIC to accept pennies on the dollar for the debt that you owe them. At nearly the same time, reward the executives at Bain Capital with lavish bonuses for their great performance. Then we can use the other "Mitt Romney" way: Take over a struggling, but viable, company. Run the company into heavy debt. Charge the company a fee to figure out how to reduce that debt. Cut jobs at the company. Sell out your interest in the company. Watch the company go into bankruptcy. Make nearly $100 million in profit. Sounds like a solution to me (sarcasm intended).

    Chatmandu:
    2007: Romney states that we should not go into the territory of an ally to get Obama bin Laden. He also states that we should not waste time or energy on one person.

    2012: Romney now states that he would have made the same call that Obama made, even though every previous statement suggests otherwise. I guess it just goes to prove that hindsight is really easy.

    Governor Romney: moderately Pro-choice
    Candidate Romney: Staunchly pro-life

    Governor Romney: In 2002, "Massachusetts has strong gun laws. I support them. I won't chip away at them" 2004: Romney signs a bill permamently banning assault weapons in Massachusetts.

    Candidate Romney: Suddenly a strong supporter of gun rights

    Governor Romney: Signs legislation for a health care initiative that requires health insurance for all citizens of Massachusetts. The legislation assists individuals that can't afford insurance and taxes those than can afford health care, but chooses not to purchase it.

    Candidate Romney: Opposes Obama's health care initiative. This legislation requires individuals to purchase health insurance, assist those that can't afford insurance, and taxes those that can afford insurance, but opts not to purchase it.

    Romney 2011: Opposes the idea of lowering the upper tier of income tax from 35%.

    Romney 2012: Wants to lower the upper tier of income tax from 35% to 25%.

    There is a reason that Romney is called "Mr. Etch-a-sketch".

    Where has Obama "evolved"
    Patriot Act
    Gitmo
    Gay marriage
    Military tribunals
    Obamacare not a tax
    Raising debt ceiling "unpatriotic"
    PAYGO, pay as you go spending for government
    Public financing of campaigns
    Civility
    No lobbyists in his administration, but given out waivers to some.
    Transparency

    "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

    -- The First Amendment
    You might want to try googling " seperation of church and state " .
    I'm not sure what country / universe you live in but you apparently are a stranger to the United States of America and its Constitution.
    The Religious Right -- otherwise known as The American Taliban -- has NOT taken over yet.

    Willie, mrconservitive is 100% right.
    Seperation of church and state is NOT IN THE CONSTITUTION.
    It was in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson.
    Maybe you should GOOGLE IT.

    Mr. C:

    You have proven yourself to be ignorant again. The division of church and state is derived from the constiution. I think you really need to research stuff before you post. You just come across sounding ignorant. You were educated in America, right? Don't you want to show off oyur patriotism? If so, then do so by becoming educated before you post. I have been reading your posts for months now and find all you do is fill the space with misinformation.

    did you just come up from triple a ball in the carolinas? Have you never heard of a typo? Do you really think transposing letters in a blog entry is an indication of a lack of intelligence. Really? Really?

    Centrist: What I was trying to get across to you is if you are going make fun of somebody and the degree of their education , maybe you should proof read your own letters so that you don't come across looking like the ignorant one.

    And what the heck is triple a ball?

    So,

    1) By highlighting a typo you did not get that across. Welcome to the blogosphere. I am an attorney who files 30 page briefs everyday of the week. The last thing I am worried about is a typo in a blog.

    2) Triple A ball is the minor leagues.

    smartvoter: the 1st Amendment to the Constitution IS part of the Constitution. And this is it
    "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
    -- The First AmendmentThe Supreme Court of the United States has equated that to Separation of Church and State a long long time ago and it has been an honored tradition in this country.
    Until ...
    Until ...
    The American Taliban began taking over the Republican Party and trying to force their ultra religious mindset on the rest of the country.
    The American Taliban is the Tea Party and the Religious Right.
    If given free reign, the Religious Right would ban all birth control -- not just abortions.

    Willie:nowhere in the 1st amendment does it mention S E P E R A T I O N.
    And the Supreme Court can say a lot of things ,that does not make it LAW , they can not legislate from the bench.
    Just because it has become a long honored tradition does not make it LAW.
    It must go back to Congress if it is to be changed.
    We can go round and round about this. I'm done. YOU WIN ,I WIN Mr CONSERVITIVE WINS we all win because were all Americans. have a nice day Willie, talk to you on the next one.

    I would say Arizona education, but I don't know if smartvoter grew up here.But where ever smartvoter was " educated " they did a lousy job.
    It wasn't long ago there was some mention that schools no longer teach civics.
    It's rather obvious smartvoter went to one of those schools.

    The so-called "separation of church and state" DOES NOT exist in the Constitution. They're supposed to keep the state out of religion, not religion out of the state.

    And I will further add that I'll bet smartvoter was very well-educated. Why do you think he became a conservative like me? Only if you go to Yale can you be made stupid.

    (I hope there aren't any conservatives that go or went to that "school".)

    Hilarious that the semi-literate ranter is attacking other posters for THEIR spelling.
    The unintentional irony from the Tea Party is hilarious!

    And HOW TELLING that the same person who thinks separation of church and state isn't in the Constitution ALSO believes that biological evolution says humans came from monkeys. Ignorance is one thing; willfull ignorance is pathetic, immoral, and disgusting.

    Willie - Evolutionary theory does not (and NEVER has) claimed humans evolved from monkeys. That is a Creationist lie.

    Primates share a common genetic ancestor - this is a fact, supported by the evidence. And humans are primates, another fact.

    Willie, you don't seem to have a grasp of evolutionary biology.
