I want to thank all of the riders, vendors and sponsors who participated in the inaugural Chandler Century Bike Ride on March 31. We had more than 330 riders participate in the paid events, as well as about 100 residents take part in the Family Bike Ride. It was the largest biking event in our city’s history.
A special “tip of the helmet” should also go to the committee of city staff and biking enthusiasts who helped make the ride a great success.
It was a great experience and showcased exactly why Chandler has been named a Bike Friendly Community, as designated by the League of American Bicyclists. Cycling is a healthy pastime that is open to people of all ages and skills levels.
So thank you again, Chandler, for making the Chandler Century Bike Ride a rousing success.

I wish the council member cared as much about providing its community decent transit service city wide as much as a silly event for a bunch of spandex clad bicycle riders.
