Let's say that you are the newly chosen CEO of the largest Department Store in the World. You weren't one of the "Good Ole Boys" but a complete "outsider" - very "outsider," if you get my drift. You knew that when you accepted the position that costs were far exceeding revenues. That many department head's loyalty still rested with the old CEO. Two ongoing discount programs were costing the store a huge amount of money. But, you thought that you had all the answers and could turn things around, effect "Change".
You turned everything on it's head whether some of the department heads liked it or not. You didn't bother to listen to their arguments at meetings. You were the "anointed one," not them. They could like it or lump it.
One day, in your numerous (very numerous...some say too numerous), "meet and greets," you visit a department who's head you can't stand. She and you have a "history."
She shows up to greet you in a loud outfit taking away some of your attention. You are ticked off. You start telling her what she said about their meeting was wrong. She tries to invite you to come and walk through her department and see her problems first hand but points her finger at you. What do you do as CEO of the world's biggest department store? Hear her out because she is a department head and a woman too. Or turn away and ignore her problems? What should a good CEO do?

k33j88: In an earlier version of EVT's online newspaper I use to debate with a person that described themselves as a liberal. This person was refreshing, because they actually debated the topic, and did not attempt snide insults, which is rare IMHO when dealing with liberals.
We considered having a face to face meeting, because I had some ideas that may help end the fight over ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, and wanted his opinion. However, before we were to meet, I asked him to answer one simple question: "Do you think that ILLEGAL ALIENS have the same rights as US citizens?" He would not answer me, no matter how many times I asked.
I think therein lies the problem. Liberals are not willing to admit that ILLEGAL ALIENS have wronged others. Liberals want equal rights upfront. Conservatives want said right to be earned, as LEGAL immigrants have earned them. Barring that, they want "a pound of flesh" to make it FAIR to those persons that got snubbed (US citizens either born here, are LEGALLY immigrated here).
As long as that mentality exists, I don't see how a happy medium can be found.

As to the Jared Laughner statement, I already provided the link above. Yes, you DID make it PERSONAL. Not only by bringing me into it, but my DAUGHTER as well! Then you state "You took offense where none was intended." Was that meant as an apology or explanation?
If it was an apology, I didn't see what I would call a statement of regret. If it was an explanation, then perhaps you should stop touting your skills as a writer. IMHO, a good writer wouldn't take the liberty to insert another person, and their child, into your "point" as you did. I would not do that to you.
Did you hit a nerve? No. I merely pointed out FACT. I use caps when I wish some emphasis, because I can't make it boldface. I learned long ago not to lose my temper, or let someone's rude statement "strike a nerve". One tend's to lose their ability to reason during such times. Also, usually a person that does such things WANTS that reaction. I deny them that pleasure by finding humor in their attempt. It makes no difference to me whether or not they believe me. I know it to be true, and that's good enough for me.

Did any of you happen to catch this week's Moyer and Company? Bill interviewed a man whose book on politics is coming out in March. The man is a social psycologist. In short he views politics as a religious experience. Republicans and
Democrats are members of tribes. Each group has a pre-determined view of what the other group believes, what their values are and what makes their particular tribe better than the other. Both sides are hypocrites!

The Dangers of a Self-Proclaimed Leader: OBAMA

When Barrack Hussein Obama was campaigning for the office of president in 2008, he promised a lot of changes that he said would fundamentally transform America. Wait a minute! Did anybody actually hear what he was saying? He wanted to bring changes to transform our country. Hmm….transform, meaning, according to my dictionary, to change the form or appearance of or change the condition, nature or function of.
Well, since taking office, he has made some very remarkable, albeit, very dangerous and even threatening changes that could ultimately, not only, transform our country, but destroy her as we know her. So let’s take a look at some of the transformational changes that have taken place during the past three years that (King) Obama has been in office.
First and foremost, he quickly increased the size of our government by appointing “czars” to hold positions that would give them power to make radical changes in how our government works and, of course, he added more regulatory departments to make it difficult for our country to keep it’s status as the leading nation in job creation and fiscal responsibility, as well as innovative, industrial, scientific, and business growth. His changes have increased our dependence on oil and energy resources from other countries, raising the cost of both oil and gas consumption.
Our Failure-in-Chief has demonstrated that we, as Americans, are just completely incompetent of making our own decisions regarding our health care when he passed Obamacare that dictates that we “must” purchase health insurance, sign up for Obamacare or face a penalty of a fine and/or jail time. Now who wouldn’t just love a president like that? Doesn’t that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?
Is that the full assessment of what our beloved president has done for us in his three years in office? Not by a long shot! What other things has he and his administration trifled with to bring about this wonderful “transformation” to our country? Once again, let’s take a look.
He wants to regulate everything from how and where we do our banking, what kind of health insurance we should have, whether or not we can have a vegetable garden on our property and what we are allowed to do with what we have harvested, being able to pray when, where and how we want, what we say or do in protest against homosexuality, abortions, unionization, illegal immigration, government spending, or any other issues facing our country at this time that do not fall into compliance with this administration.
Instead of doing something positive to help stimulate job creation and domestic growth, he continues to push stimulus plans that have failed grossly and have put our country in an even worse financial meltdown than it was in before the stimulus plans came into being. Stimulus bills and continued government spending and borrowing is all that concerns Obama. He wants to see our country fail just as miserably as he has as our president. Nothing he has done during his term in office has benefited our country or our people in any way, shape or form. I can’t call him our leader (even president has a bad taste when I say it in relation to him); he has no leadership abilities. All he knows how to do is campaign. He’s been in that mode since 2008 and it doesn’t matter what we are facing as a nation, how our economy is spiraling out of control, how our citizens are hurting from lack of jobs, how healthcare costs keep rising, how our military and their families are suffering or even how we are coming under attack by those who would take the very core of our constitution and religious beliefs and just trample them under their feet.
As if that isn’t enough, he has placed our country in danger of becoming another European style country. How? Need you ask? What has been becoming so predominant in so many countries world-wide? If you don’t know the answer to that , you must be blind, deaf or both with no contact with the outside world. Can anyone say “Sharia Law”? Where does that come from? Islam, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Quran, of course. Does anyone know exactly how Sharia Law works? I did a search and found a list of countries that practice Sharia Law and exactly how they implement the rules contained within it. Don’t be shocked. You should know this by now; here is the list:
Countries using strict forms of Sharia Law include:
Death for Blasphemy:
1. Afghanistan 2. Bahrain 3. Iran 4. Mauritania 5. Oman 6. Pakistan 7. Yemen 8. Saudi Arabia 9. Gaza

Nations that include some level of Sharia (leniant sentences for honour killings, ban on new churches, floggings, etc):
1. Indonesia (Flogging, Caning; Sharia applied strictly in Aceh province) 2. Turkey (Restrictions on alcohol) 3. Brunei (Caning, Alcohol is illegal) 4. Jordan (2 years or less for honour killings) 5. Eritrea (Girls as young as 8 can be married, spousal rape is not recognized) 6. Syria (1 year or less for honour killings) 7. Djibouti (Sharia law regarding divorce) 8. Chechnya (Modest dress enforced, Alcohol and gambling suppressed by local authorities) 9. Niger (girls can be married off before they reach puberty) 10. Nigeria (Sharia is enforced in the northern states) 11. Kenya (Ad Hoc Sharia enforced in the east near the border with Somalia) 12. Gambia (Sharia courts decide all family matters, including for non-Muslims) 13. Qatar (public consumption is illegal during Ramadan, Alcohol heavily restricted, blood money acceptable punishment for murder, “kafala” law which is also shared by all Gulf states but Bahrain is technically slavery) 14. Uganda (Kadhi Courts overseeing family and civil matters)
Most “Western” nations also have parallel Sharia legal systems (for example in Canada polygamy is widely practiced and authorities look the other way, Imams refusing to condemn or work to stop it). Sharia finance is also practiced in many nations around the world. Many other Islamic nations that do not apply Sharia (such as Azerbaijan, Albania, Bosnia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikstan) have large portions of their population who do want it applied or who actively seek to abide by it extra-legally.

There are a number of organizations that support Islam and their beliefs (one being CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations. Although their so-called religion of peace goes against every principle taught in our Christian faith, they believe that Americans should be understanding and tolerant of their beliefs. Anyone who knows anything at all about the Muslim (Islamic) faith, knows that Sharia Law is an un-bending part of that faith. How strictly they adhere to the rules set down by the Quran is determined by just where they live as seen in the list above. In nations where Sharia Law is followed strictly, women and children have no rights and must adhere to the dictates of the Law or be subject to severe physical beatings and/or death. No infringement of the law is tolerated. Men can abuse their wives in any manner they desire and if a child or spouse is found guilty of dishonoring the family, in the least degree, they can be killed and it is looked upon as an “honor killing”. There is no punishment affixed to honor killings.
Muslims dedicated to Islamic Sharia Law have no respect for human life and there is no equality between men and women. Men are always superior to women. Women must do only that which their husbands tell them they can do and they have absolutely no rights outside the home. They are abusive towards other religions and people; they will not tolerate those who will not accept their faith or those who may choose to leave Islam. These are considered infidels and are worthy of death. There is nothing in Sharia Law than can, in any way, compare to American Law because it is in complete contradiction to our laws. This is what we can look forward to if Obama is elected again. I can’t emphasize this enough. Wake up people! Don’t let this happen to our beloved country.

I cannot cover everything that Obama has done to our country and perhaps I am being a bit repetitious in writing this article, but somehow I feel that I must continue to keep these things to the front to educate people about just what our president is really all about because even though I think that “the sleeping giant” has been awakened, I think there are still some who haven’t quite awakened to the reality of our situation with Obama. I think it’s critical that I continue, through my articles, to attest to those who may not be aware and are not as educated as they should be about the issues that plague our country because of the ineptitude and un-Americanism of our Failure-in-Chief. I’m sorry if that is offensive to some, but I just can’t respect a man who has, at every stage of his administration, done anything and everything to undermine our country, our beliefs, our values and our rights as American citizens. He has, not once, shown any desire to follow the “rule of law” as written by our forefathers in our Declaration of Independence, our Bill of Rights and our Constitution. These documents are what makes America the greatest nation on the earth and inspires its exceptionalism. No other country has ever had documents of that magnitude and with such sound principles as those contained in our founding documents.
I attest that the United States of America is a land that was prepared for, promised to and blessed by God for the sakes of those who live here and call it their home. He prepared great men to come to its rescue when Britain wanted complete control and He armed them with faith, honesty, humility, humanity, honor, and strength to become the victors over tyranny. God was at the helm, guiding each step, each action, and every word that proceeded forth from their mouths and their pens. He was the whisperer of knowledge through the Holy Ghost that brought us this truth: ” We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

He is not incompetent.
To the contrary, he is brilliant.
He knows exactly what he's doing.
He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. Economy to create systemic failure.

Barack Hussien Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven,
two professors at Columbia University ..
They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system.
With government spending and entitlement demands.
Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming.
Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority,
That desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on
to always vote for bigger government.
Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.
Universal Health Care .
The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions).
Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans
will add trillions to the national debt.
What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government .
Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill
In the middle of a depression?
Cap & Trade.
Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, Cap & Trade has nothing to do with global warming.
It has everything to do with redistribution of income, with government in control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors.
Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants.
They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power.
The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars,
bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."
Make Puerto Rico a state. Why?
Who's asking for a 51st state?
Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government
entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers.
But this has been Barack Hussien Obama's plan all along.
His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.
Legalize 12 million illegal Mexican immigrants.
Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America .
But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted
on to support big government.
Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security .
Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go?
It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country.
It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions).
A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues).
All those public employees (unions) will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America .
The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.
Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job
creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers,
redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did
nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama).
Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government.
Barack Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition. With the acts outlined above, Barack Hussien Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees (unions) who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.
Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by

Willie, the President could not just walk away. He had to give Jan a moment or two, at least enough time to size her up and respond briefly to what she was asking of him. He did that and then went on his way, being as publically respectful as he could. It was a balancing act. And he was balanced, but as usual, Jan was not!

Gov. Brewer did have the attention of a CEO once. Craig Barrett, former CEO and chairperson for Intel told the Governess “. . . that if Intel were starting anew, Arizona likely wouldn’t be in the running for its business.” He also told her that “the state’s K-12 system was hindering economic –development efforts.”
So there she was gesturing to the President as if he were naughty when Barack was here to give Intel credit for all the hard work and achievement the company has made for American jobs. It is clear to me who is cordial and who is not.

When the President landed on a tight schedule, that was not the time or place for a discussion.
I think there was disrespect on both sides.
As an experienced politican who lives by schedules hersel, she should have known better. I suspect she did.
It was no time to be presenting letters and trying to have a discussion about border issues.
And the President should have known better than to dispute her version of events in her book on the tarmac, Especially when he didn't have time for really talking.
