Agent’s death brings only silence

Border Patrol Agent Ivie’s death leaves me speechless ... just like the people who are voted and appointed to protect those heroes and we the public. Not a word from Obama nor Napolitano, cowards of the era.

Uh, Sam, when's the last time we heard of straw buyers for cars so the cartels could use those cars to kill people?

"Many stores" require ID to purchase ammo -- how many? And how much?

And you're wrong about purchases -- I can buy a gun from a person who just bought a gun at a gun show in the parking lot of that show and provide no ID or background check at all. And private dealers at gun shows don't have to do background checks at all.

Mike: Have you ever purchased a firearm? I doubt it. Every purchase requires the completion of a BATF form and a signature. That requirement has been around for probably 50 years at least. It also requires a background check. While it is true that sales between individuals do not require the above requirements, they are relatively small. Now, many stores also require ID to purchase ammo as well but I doubt that you bother to check your facts as many liberals like you ignore if it does not fit your argument. Why aren't you also pushing to ban automobiles as well since they kill our citizens in the multiple thousands every year? Go for the gusto and regulate kitchen knives as well since they are also weapons of destruction.

Napalitano did meet with his family. I"m sure that she expressed the outrage and compassion from herself and the president.

Look, mr., do you believe stores should be allowed to sell an unlimited number of guns to one person at one time? To sell unlimited amounts of ammunition to one person at one time?

And do you believe that a person who's been diagnosed mentally ill but not hospitalized for it should be able to purchase a gun legally?

In Arizona, a diagnosed mentally ill person can purchase as many weapons and as much ammunition as a store will allow.

In Arizona, a person can buy all of that and turn around and send it to the cartels. They're called straw buyers.

All these laws courtesy of the NRA and their supporters in the state legislature.

And you're calling me terrible? Please.

Given his posting history, it's hard to tell if mrconservative is defending the NRA...or the drug cartels. ;)

Mike, you are a terrible person.

Comparing the drug cartels to the NRA, and even referring them as "best friends"?

    Disgraceful!

    Mr. Jones,

On-going investigations usually require radio silence, until the facts can be determined. Otherwise, it's speculation, and mob mentality. Which are you more adept at?

It's easy to call someone a coward, and it's even easier to hyperventilate. I suggest a plain brown paper bag, to cover both your spewing and your breathing.

I suspect if we knew even a slice of what goes on, around our border, we'd all be a bit more circumspect, and a bit less cavalier, in our assumptions...

    A. Who said I was out of diapers?

    B. I'm not really concerned with your ability to carry an M1 or hunting, but I am concerned that we allow the kind of purchases that lead to rifles and handguns in huge numbers leaving Arizona and going to Mexico, all legally bought, with minimal restrictions and no restrictions on the number of weapons purchased at a time.

    C. A question, samkat: do you believe -- like the NRA's official position states -- that there should be "no limits on gun clip or magazine capacity"?

    No limits, none?

And if you do agree, explain why.

    Thanks.

Actually, Mike, we gun owners belong to the NRA to protect ourselves from liberals like you who consider even toy guns to be evil. I was hunting and carrying an M1 Garand probably before you were out of diapers.

Polititians are great at jumping to conclusions when it comes to border issues. Remember the murder-suicide of the Tempe couple found in the desert that Sheriff Paul Babeu claimed was the work of drug cartels ?

If we would close the border, much of this nonsense would cease.

Hey, Barry, you forgot to mention the drug cartels' best amigo:

    Our very own NRA.

The group that opposes any kind of restriction on purchasing guns.

    The result?

Arizona has become the cartels' gun candy store. They hire straw buyers who can purchase whatever weapon in whatever quantity legally -- only have to be 18 and have no criminal record -- and there those guns go, down to ol' Mexico.

Where the cartels shoot up the country . . . when they're not busy shooting at American Border Agents.

    All courtesy of the NRA.

    Barry,
It's too bad that a border patrol agent has to die to highlight the incompetence of this administration. When the feds say that everything is better along the border, don't enforce our immigration laws and then turn around and grant amnesty what more can we expect. Nothing but incompetence all up and down the line from this administration. The Department of Injustice with "fast and furious', State Department with "Libya", The EPA with rules to kill the coal industry, Homeland Security with open border and no enforce of our immigration laws, Education Department with not being able to teach our children, Labor Department cooking the unemployment figures, a president that provides NO leadership. How much worse can it get? Let's no try for another 4 years of this mess. Time to let them go.

My condolences to agent Ivie's family.

Pending the outcome of the investigation, and the sad outcome that it was, apparently, friendly fire, I think most smart politicans try not to shoot off their mouths about the whodunnit until it is settled as to the fact of the matter.

No matter how you slice it, this is a sad situation. My condolences to the Ivie Family.

Congratulations Barry. You are the next idiot to try to politicize the death of a border patrol agent. Since we now know that the Agent Ivie was probably killed by friendly fire, I guess you can't complain about "fast and furious" in this case.

What I see from the far right is simple. They truly don't care about the border agents. They simply care about using their deaths to further their political agenda. I saw many angry comments after the death of Brian Terry, but all of the anger was vented towards Obama and/or Holder. Just once, I would have liked to see someone on the right express anger at the killer, too. But, I never did.
