The group behind the anti-LDS mailer sent out recently should get their money back. The logic behind the mailer is truly flawed. Here’s a few reasons:
1. Not every LDS person in Gilbert knows every other LDS person in Gilbert. I had no idea Jenn Daniels and Jared Taylor were LDS. So if you believe that LDS people only vote for other LDS people (totally false), you just let us all know which ones to vote for, which is exactly the opposite of what you were trying to do.
2. Most non-LDS folks don’t know that LDS is a term to describe us. They usually call us Mormons (among other things). So you aren’t reaching your target group, but just irritating your “opponents.” Obviously, you are trying to convince all the non-Mormons not to vote for the Mormons. I suppose with all the publicity this is getting, that could cure your problem, but I still think it entitles you to a refund.
3. There are many other ways to use LDS as an acronym. But the use of the word “Da?” That’s usually only for hip-hop and sports talk. I have this vision of Steve Berman in a Vanilla Ice outfit trying rap to me for my vote.
So call up your ad guy and demand a refund. You got hosed!
And after you do that, come on down to the Stake Center, I’d like to introduce you to the missionaries.

Well, anyone who watched the "Goings-On" here is Mesa with the Senate President Russell Pearce Recall Election can tell you that the Brothers and Sisters in our Town are in "lock-step".
Maybe Senator & Bishop, Jerry Lewis should send down his Campaign Staff to get you guys (and gals) in Gilbert......organized to the Nth-Degree. There is no other explanation for the Recall Election numbers to have done a 180degree "flip-flop" in one years time other than the "Powers-that-be" put out the word from "On High" that the ..."Mormon Compact" was in and .....Russell "the Father of SB 1070" Pearce ...was out.
The Mesa Poll Workers had never seen so many modestly dressed women voters (no Spandex, no bare midriffs and no tattooes) and men wearing dress slacks and perfectly ironed long-sleeved shirts (no cut-off, no wife-beater tee shirts and no long hair either)....at an Election since the 1950's.

Leon,
Let me explain that "lock step" you observe. Russell was an embarrasment. Had he been Catholic, he would have been an embarrasment. Had he been Lutheran, he would have been an embarrasment. Had he been Baptist, he would have been an embarrassment. SB1070 was an embarrassment. So he got voted out. Jan Brewer is next. And she's no Mormon.

Dale, Jan won't leave ntil her term is over. And the chances of her being recalled are slim. It certainly won't happen this year, it's too close to the election (as of now, 80 days).
As for Russell Pearce, I probably won't vote for him come November. While I did vote for him last October (I cast my vote early, since I was out of town on Election Day) I am likely to vote for Bob Worsley.
Dale, I was under the impression that you are LDS as well, am I correct? I knew some Whiting's growing up in my parents' ward, but I honetly don't remember any Dale Whiting. Do you know a Melodie Whiting? She's married now, so that'd be her maiden name. And you've said that you are a conservative, but I don't see any conservativism in you letters or comments.
Just curious.

mrconservative ... there are different flavors of conservatives.
Two main branches come to mind.
You have Eisenhower Republicans -- and they are regular normal conservatives.
Then you have a brand of conservatives that Jeff Flake refers to in his commercials -- Arizona Conservatives. The phrase Arizona Conservative is code for " bat s h i t crazy ".
That generally includes the tea-partiers and birthers.

Gee Willie,
What's so "bat s h I t crazy" about the Tea Party's 3 core values of;
1. Fiscal responsibility.
2. Constitutionally limited government.
3. Free market enterprise.

I had an acquaintance who was a Mormon and after a while, he sometimes let his guard down and forgot I was not one. He was complaining to me one time about the fact he had been told he would run for a particular office and that everyone in his ward and stake had been instructed to vote for him. I have no doubt this goes on where ever the Mormons are located.

Mailers are irelevent since the LDS community already has their voting march orders.
Most of us don't take our marching orders on who to vote for, but except for a few of us most others b%*/- and moan but don't vote.
If ever the non-LDS community ever did vote in the numbers that they did, then the eternal LDS control of our state would crumble.s

Chat, that is exactly what Willie is against. And let's make sure we are clear here, 1070 is trying to identify illegal aliens and deport them- right? What is wrong with that? Or should we be encouraging illegal immigration? I don't think your going to get many takers outside of the illegal aliens themselves on the latter point.
