"I recently bought a bicycle to ride to work and for local errands and shopping. It creates no polution and, instead of four-dollar-a-gallon gasoline, it burns fat. A quick glance about the Valley will tell you that human butt lard is cheap and plentiful!"

"Robert Gates, our Secretary of Defense, has worked for eight presidents, including Bush II. In a "60 Minutes" interview he said that the raid on bin Laden's compound was "one of the most courageous calls I've ever seen ... a very gutsy call." He never said that about Bush, but he had no reservations saying that about President Obama. CIA Director Leon Panetta stated that "no CIA detainee revealed the courier's name or whereabouts", and Sen. McCain - someone who knows first-hand about torture - insisted that waterboarded prisoners did not yield the information that led to the finding of bin Laden. Sounds like the Wednesday venter has a bad case of sour grapes."

"Stephen Hawking will sit there with a straight face and tell you that something can create itself from nothingness. Now I am supposed to believe this moron when he says there is there no Heaven? What is really funny is that supposedly intelligent people actually believe that this guy has intelligence."

"Attention Mesa's schools: Office staff and teachers should be very grateful parents do not vote you into your job. If this was the case, many of you would be out of a job."

"Thanking Obama for killing Osama is like thanking Ronald McDonald for the burger. It's the guy cooking the burger that should get the credit, not the clown."

Perhaps the most innovative alternative energy source I've hear about todate. Why don't you try selling the carbon credits for this persnal use. They sell by the ton!

    Second Venter:

Sower grapes or tough crow, one of the other or both!

    Third venter:

Perhaps you ought to try reading some of Stephen's work! Often we see apparent conflicts between science and religion as well as internal conflicts within each field. In my opinion where conflicts exist, it merely means that we misunderstand the science, or the religion or both. Truth is absolute and independent of those who espouse it, both truth in science and truth in religion. Conflict merely means there is room to try to understand things more exactly. Stephen is way out in front of most of us in the field of science but still have some insights on religion.

    Fourth Venter:

When I was in tune with east valley schools, I believed that the Mesa Public School system was the best. Nothing of which I am aware has changed that. But everywhere standards have dropped. Are you sure your stone casting approach is best?

    Fifth Venter:

So who have you heard thanking President Obama and not his SEAL Team and 101st Airborne cooks? I did write a piece observing that it took guts to order the cooks into a foreign kitchen on rather sketchy intelligence, intelligence on which the rest of the share holder representatives could not reach agreement. President Obama as commander in chief has given thanks where thanks is due.

Third venter: "Stephen Hawking .......... says there is there no Heaven?"

British physicist Stephen Hawking has lived with amyotrophic lateral (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) for most of his adult life. In his latest book, "The Grand Design," he challenges Isaac Newton's theory that the solar system could not have been created without God. And recently Hawking told the newspaper that he does not believe in God and the notion of heaven is a 'fairy story.'

How do we know heaven exists? Christians (who belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ) believe heaven exists, because Jesus Christ said so, and He encouraged His disciples to look forward to their eternal home.

“In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” – John 14:2
