Letter: Political leaks can’t serve as lies

From the newspaper dated Tuesday, June 12, 2012, regarding the article written by Richard Cohen titled “Efforts to Trumpet Obama hit Sour Note,” I think that if there are going to be leaks, then they had better not serve as lies.

If someone is going to leak information, it shouldn’t serve any purpose. It isn’t fair to use information alongside something that isn’t true.

This could include trying to make Obama look good even when he is not. As we see in this article, it pretty much backfired (or just didn’t work).
