The Maricopa Republican Party should take down the Sept. 20, 2011, article on their website titled "Recall election - Randy Parraz, Obama style hope and change for Arizona" which is both inflammatory and inaccurate.

Now that death threats are in the air, it's way past time to tone down the rhetoric.

One of the inflammatory comments: "Parraz is a union organizer who has taught racist courses at ASU teaching that Hispanics were robbed of their land by the whites and have been oppressed ever since. He is a left-wing progressive who is pro-homosexual marriage, pro-abortion, pro-socialism, anti-guns, etc."

Almost none of that is true, and even if it were, this is America. We can hold whatever beliefs we want.

An example of assertions that are demonstrably and obviously false: "nobody in his organization lives within the boundaries of Russell's district (LD 18) except for one person who was needed in order to file the recall."

Mary Lou, Amanda, Brenda, Julie and hundreds of others would take exception to that.

The Republicans have really turned into the crazy party, and it's past time to move back to sanity and old-fashioned Americanism. It's a free country.
