The Democrats’ methods became quite visible at their convention. First, there was the Pelosi method: The delegates were supposed to pass the party platform before they read it to see what was in it.

But someone jumped the gun, read it and told Fox News.

The elephant in the room is that the administration has been moving away from Israel and pandering to the Arabs since the inauguration. The deletion of God from the platform may have been inadvertent but the omission of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital was most probably not.

The delegates should have addressed these two omissions with two separate votes. But the bosses in the smoke-filled room, having been caught, devised what was to be a quiet way out. They used the Washington ear-mark technique and appended the Jerusalem question to the God question, evidently assuming that no delegate would vote against God. They were so sure of themselves that they programmed the result into the teleprompter.

But the anti-Israeli group refused to bow before the bosses’ ramrodding methods and voted a resounding “No.” So, the chair reverted to Chicago-style politics and embarrassed all of America in the eyes of the world by ruling that the Yeas passed it by a two-thirds voice vote. And all we hear from the media today is that the vote was against God.

The fact that half of the delegates evidently oppose Israel has been swept under the rug. The Democrats’ methods have been exposed but, unfortunately, the elephant is still invisible.

    Jack,

Your colors are showing, too. You equate "the Democrats" and the DNC convention tactics with "the President." Seldom does the party in power get lead in every detail by the Commander in chief in charge.

And where I'm a life long registered Republican and question our unswerving committment to a middle eastern state that did not exist when I was born, and whose very existance was born on the back of terrorist tactics eventually adopted by their opponents, I wonder if we ought not distance ourselves from the "state" but not the people. One sees more discussion about the inappropriateness of national policy in print in Tel Aviv, than in New York.

So Jack, do you think we shall ever see Republican methods come out in the open? I don't. That's not the way politics is played.

Just as many Jews in Israel do not support a Zionist Jerusalem, nor do I.

“And for the sake of Jerusalem I shall not remain silent. Isaiah 61.” Quote by Rabbi Uri Blau in an address to the United Nations.

Rabbi Uri Blau wrote on behalf of himself and as he said, “hundres [sic] of thousands of Orthodox Jews in the entire world and on behalf of tens of thousands of Orthodox Jewish inhabitants of the Holand Land and in particular those of the Holy City of Jerusalem,”.
First on the list of reasons to oppose a Zionist Jerusalem, “the city which is sacred to all the nations should remain unique and be above all national interests of all people by immediately proclaiming Jerusalem an international city and its citizens under the protection of the United Nations”

Truly this must be the most sensible.

McVickers, the Republicans also practice the Pelosi method.

Romney won't / can't tell what his economic plan is.

You have to elect him to find out what it is.

Romney can't / won't tell you what parts of Obamacare he wants to keep.
I can ... he will keep everything except the clauses that the insurance companies have to pay out at least 82% in benefits or issue a refund to customers and he will also drop the pre-existing conditions clause.

What a surprise -- the Republicans have been screaming about the horrible " socialist " Obamacare but now that an election is coming they say they will keep " most of it ".

If you believe that you must be a Republican.

What is godless is proclaiming your beliefs while not practicing them.
Where in your faith were you taught to pretend to be better than only other of Gods children? Show me where the bible directs you to place yourself above anyone- gays, immigrants, Democrats or non-believers.
That must be some kind of church you attend.....

P.s. mrconservative, Barrack Obama IS the President!

Yoo hoo! Chatmandu! Still awaiting your response on the 'Romney bad for the economy' letter. You've grown inexplicably silent on that thread....???

fae4now --- chatty claimed it was " the expressed policy of Obama to redistribute the wealth " too and I challenged chatty to produce a link to that " expressed policy " and chatty went silent on that too.

Democrats hurriedly rewrote their convention platform at the Democratic National Convention to add a mention of God and declare Jerusalem.

Despite the corrections, the Democrats don't know what they believe on the two very important topics. How they are against Israel and over the issue of who controls Jerusalem.

Reinsert God and insert a "mention" of Jerusalem into their platform . . . Democrats only did this because of the pushback. But for sure, voters will not forget the debate over the Democratic National Convention removing God from its party platform.

I wonder if you took a vote of the citizens of the US if they believed we should invoke God or agree that Jeruselum was the capital of Isreal what they would say? Wonder if that means that the citizery is less like Democrats then one may think. Hmmm?

Every time I hear Dale mention he is a Republican I have to Chuckle. Can anyone name one Rebublican thing he has ever backed? Let's see, Isreal is the only Democracy in the middle east. Now why would we support them over the other countries. Boy, that is a head scratcher.

    mrconservative,

"Romney and 100" you say. You're on.

I predict the vote will be much closer, less than 25. But whether it's Romney or Obama, neither will be re-elected in 2016. Obama will not be eligible. If it's Romney in 2012, he will do less favorably in 2016 than Obama will have done in 2012.

If you’re not a registered Democrat what the Dems do at their convention is their business. We can watch and decide if they influence our vote, but it’s their call.

While both conventions occupied TV for their respective weeks I do think the entertainment was better at the Dem’s. Better music, better speakers. Did find that Clint Eastwood has finally turned senile. As for changing how I will vote… I think not. Might help me decide what movies to watch, if any.

It’s important to differentiate rhetoric from action. We shouldn’t confuse Zionist with Israeli with Jewish. We shouldn’t mistake God in a political platform with God in our beliefs. We shouldn’t equate either FOX or CSNBC with news.

We shouldn’t think the U.S. is going to decide if Israel moves it’s capital from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem (the real issue in Israel). To put such tripe in an American platform is to dilute the purpose and focus of our political system.

    When I read this:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/15/chi-kate-middleton-topless-photos_n_1886469.html

all I could think of was Leon's comment on this thread saying that Michelle Obama should act more like Princess Catherine (Kate Middleton).

Leon, you really don't know how funny you are at times!

At least now we all should know where the majority of Democrats stand when it comes to God. The only thing funny about it was after three votes, the Democrat party did what they knew they would have to for votes, against the will of their DELEGATES. Now the Democrats know how the rest of us feel after the health care vote!
