As a Boy Scout who is working on the completion of my Communications Merit Badge, I am required to write a letter to the editor of a magazine or newspaper.

I chose to write about my CTR (Choose The Right) friends who continuously choose the right. They are always nice to me and they not only do what’s right, but also help me choose the right. For example, they not only care about me, but also for my family members. Like the times when my little 6-year-old brother is around and gets hurt — they always try to find a way to make him feel better. They are also OK with my family rules and help me not break them. For example, I do not watch PG-13 or R rated movies and they respect that. One time I went over to a friend’s house and they were going to watch a PG-13 movie, but when I told them I couldn’t watch it they were fine with it and found something else for us to do.

It is important to have good friends so you can get far in life and not worry about things in life that can distract you from your goals and the important things that bring true happiness.

They can also help you be confident and help you make choices that keep you safe from things in the world that will harm you.

I am so grateful to have such friends. Good, clean, kind and fun friends.
