“I think we should boycott the Olympics. They should be wearing things made in United States not in China or any other country than the United States. Also do not donate to the Olympics.”

“On the one hand, Democratic leaders are right in demanding the U.S. Olympic team wear clothes made in the U.S. But on the other hand, it is their blind allegiance to the unions that has murdered the domestic textile/clothing industry. When looking for someone to point the fingers of ultimate blame Obama/Reid/Pelosi need only look in the mirror.”

“Eric Holder spoke at the NAACP Convention. To be admitted to to the Houston venue, you had to provide a government-issued ID (drivers license) and another acceptable ID. The Holder Justice Department is currently suing Texas because Texas wants to require ID to vote. If this is not hypocrisy what is?”

“As much as I enjoy the reruns of old Three Stooges antics, I now can enjoy them live on TV. Thanks to the new Three Stooges, Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh.”

“Most of these wealthy job creators that congress fights relentlessly for are about as helpful and advantageous to this society as a skin tag on my armpit is to me. If they think taxes are too high in this country they should move their bodies offshore to join up with their money.”

“Steve Nash deserves a spot in the Canadian Hall of Fame right alongside Pamela Anderson’s left one and Benedict Arnold.”

“Actor Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane, recently wrote a letter to the editor in her home town. After she publicly opposed President Obama’s re-election and expressed her pro-life, anti-gay marriage views she was called horrible, vile names, and even received death threats from liberals. How sad! She should be able to express her pro-life, anti-gay marriage, anti-Obama, and interfaith tolerance views. This is a free country where we have freedom of speech and the right to express opposing views.”

“To the Venter who responded to my ‘follow your heart’ opinion (July 6): Congratulations on your first contribution. It’s good to see citizens like yourself take advantage of an opportunity such as The Vent affords. I couldn’t agree with you more about Sheriff Joe and his press conference fetish, but I do have trouble with the governor’s finger-wagging incident being included in your statement. The press made a great effort in making it appear that Gov. Brewer was ‘chewing out’ Mr. Obama, which was found to be in fact, untrue. But, the impression was made, and the damage was done. It’s so easy to pick out three or four well-known and controversial “conservative” politicians such as Arpaio, Governor Brewer, and Pearce to castigate, but my point was to suggest that conservatives encourage the millions of misguided liberals to follow their hearts, instead of being caught up in mob rule. And by the way, when you were casting your first vote in 1964, I was in my second of six years in the Navy, and an avid Goldwater fan. Regards.”

it is their blind allegiance to the unions that has murdered the domestic textile/clothing industry.
funny that north carolina, a right to work state since 1947, lost its domestic textile/clothing industry because of unions. the domestic textile/clothing industry was murdered by nothing more than greed.

Unions played no part in the loss of the textile business. It had moved to non- union states many many years before it moved to India and China and other places.

Boycotting the Olympics will do no good.

Why punish the athletes who had no part in the decision to have the uniforms made in China?

The people running the Olympic committee should be fired and barred from EVER having anything to do with the Olympic teams again.

But the athletes have trained for this for years and it was not their fault that the uniforms were Chinese made.

Boycotting the Olympics would be punishing the wrong people.

I heard a report stating the the Ralph Lauren designed Olympic blazers are available for sale at a price of $600 for the women's blazer and $800 for the men's.

I dare say at that price I'm certain those blazers could have been made in the US at union wages and still afforded Lauren a cozy profit.

So my guess is that either the Chinese have unionized or the American designer made a windfall profit from the uniforms. Sadly this has become the American way and to some, the definition of 'success'.

Vent #1: Boycotts don't work and end up hurting the wrong people.

Vent #2: Overseas cheap labor, cheaper raw materials, government work rules and taxes killed the American textile industry.

Vent #3: Holder's middle name is "hypocrisy". His Department of Injustice is not serving this country well.

Vent #4: My favorite three stooges on TV are on BSNBC. The antics and words from Ed, the talking horse's $ss, Schultz, Chris, Obama gives me a tickle up my leg, Matthews and the Radical Madcow all leave me in stitches.

Vent #5: Keep jacking up the taxes and more of the jobs creators will leave.

Vent #6: Let Steve go and move on.

Vent #7: This a nation of free speech and that includes the nasty, name calling from all sides especially those dang liberals. LOL

Vent #8: Yeah that's right, the liberals should follow their leader "FORWARD" over the cliff. Wait.... Don't drag me over the cliff with you.....

Vent #1 and Vent #2: "U.S. Olympic team wearing things made in United States not in China."

The U.S. Olympic Committee defended the choice of American designer Ralph Lauren for the “China-made” Polo line of clothing for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Polo is a team sport played on horseback in which the objective is to score goals against an opposing team . . . And the blazers for the 530-member Team USA will feature and advertise Ralph Lauren's Polo line of clothes with the big oversized emblazoned “Polo Pony Trademarks” on each. Meaning also; the "Polo Pony" oversized logo will be one of the U.S. Olympic Team logos at the Olympic Games, which will begin later this month.

Horseback Polo at the 2012 Olympic Games?? – No, Water Polo!

None of the clothing issued to the athletes is made in the United States . . . The textile industry in America is struggling, with many workers are out of work, and Congress is outraged by the U.S. Olympic Committee’s partnership and decision to outsource the uniforms and dress the Team USA in "Chinese" manufactured berets and blazers.
