The City of Chandler recently celebrated its 100th birthday.

Today our community has evolved into an Arizona city that has become a model for others to follow. Our success has not been an accident. Over the past 100 years a changing core group of our citizenry has come together to agree and disagree on what is best for the future of Chandler. This friendly and sometimes contentious discourse is what has helped mold our city into the community we enjoy today.

As we look forward to a bicentennial celebration now more than ever we need the wisdom and involvement of the people. If you are inclined to say “I don’t have any interest in politics.” You may be overlooking the fact that there are plenty of others who do care, and sometimes for all the wrong reasons. Frustrations with government along with work responsibilities, seeking employment, and/or raising a family often trump our desire to do even the simplest things like exercising our right and responsibility to vote.

When you take the time to cast your vote you are endorsing candidates whom will be charged with representing their constituents, managing budgets and continuing the debate on what makes a great city and good government. Your decision on whom will represent you does matter. To register to vote or update your voter registration information take a minute to visit http://www.servicearizona.com. You can do it and when your done you will be glad you did.
