“Romney’s quote: ‘47 percent will vote for Obama’ because of entitlements, is right on. That’s why this country keeps getting deeper in debt. Democrats encourage a welfare-state by giving what they don’t have for votes. The Republicans encourage citizens to work for their benefits and self-respect. That’s what makes a society great.”

“Mitt Romney talks as if 47 percent of Americans begged to have their jobs sent overseas to achieve The American Dream of foreclosure, food stamps, welfare, and the Holy Grail: work 40 hours a week for a 0 percent tax bracket.”

“Read a write-in saying Obama’s tour was not an apology tour. You can spin it any way you want, but that is exactly what it was! If you had no idea who Obama was, were not affiliated with a political party, and listened to the speeches you cannot come to any other conclusion, other than it was a nice world vacation also!”

“Under the present administration, 800,000 more women are in poverty than before, Hispanic women have become the fastest and largest growing poverty group in America and four times more men than women are getting jobs. The Romney ticket will free small business to hire more people of both genders and all races, so why would any woman want to see Obama back in office?”

“After seeing the teachers that are striking in Chicago, I would think the students are probably better off not being in school with the likes of these people teaching them. What are they teaching?”

The "factual information" My Take posted isn't factual at all. Our debt problems began long before George W took office but he surely exacerbated it. And then Obama attached rockets to its tail. One truth, though, is that Bush put us into 2 wars which he should not have done, and especially into nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan, an effort with no possible good outcome. Had he simply deposed Saddam and the Taliban and then come home, it would have been far better. But the spending on those wars didn't and wouldn't have put us in the sad fiscal posture we now endure. Excessive federal spending, mostly on entitlements, is the problem. It could be easily cured by putting the dollar back on the gold standard and putting the Federal Reserve out of business completely, thus destroying the Treasury's ability to borrow money willy-nilly to fund federal deficits.Don't hold your breath for that, though.

Thank you, My Take, for sharing FACTUAL information.

While Chatmandu is quick to share his poorly informed OPINION on each and every vent he always pipes down when challenged with FACTS.

In fact he scurries away, quiet as a mouse.

This country is going in debt because of two senseless wars that Republicans didn’t pay for, Medicare part “D” which wasn’t paid for and the useless tax cuts for the wealthy. Remember “W” was left with a 236 billion dollar surplus and squandered it. So you cannot complain about the debt when it was the Republicans who got us into this mess to start with. Then have the nerve to try to tell the middle and working classes that they need to sacrifice. Get these wealthy folks to pay their fair share in taxes before you start gutting benefits.

Also enough already with this nonsense that the Democrats don’t want people to work. Democrats are all about defending the middle and working classes. We believe in hard work and being paid well for hard work. The problem is Republicans view labor as expendable and want to cheapen it as low as possible. Republicans like Romney talk this game about hard work and you will succeed, but as soon as they get an opportunity they will ship your job overseas because they believe you cost too much. The number one reason jobs are sent to places like China is because of labor pay. It is this business culture that Romney and the Republicans embrace that puts people on food stamps, welfare and unemployment to start with and keeps them there. Republicans whine and complain about these programs but haven’t stepped up to do anything about job creation. As long as Republicans continue have this pompous attitude about labor and continue to shrink the pool of good jobs, we will continue to need these programs.

    For the record:
More than half of the 47% are elderly Americans, plus military.
The reason why the working poor have seen their tax burden go down it’s because they are in fact working
61% of those who didn’t pay federal income tax did pay payroll tax contributions. Means they have jobs.
Most Americans pay a higher tax rate than Romney who pays 13
Better to compete as a nation than just an individual company.
    There was no apology tour.

    VENT # 4: “Read a write-in saying Obama’s tour was not an apology tour…”

President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are now being featured on a U.S. ad which is on seven Pakistani television stations in Pakistan.

The TV video makes it look like Obama and Clinton are broadcasting an apology to Pakistan, as it denounces the anti-Islam film “The Innocence of Muslims” that has been blamed for the present riots in the Middle-East.

“Yes, I understand that you’re upset by the Innocence of Muslims. Let me say that we are equally upset by this movie and we apologize for your poor experience trying to murder our people in Yemen and Tunisia,” Obama says.

Vent #1: You are right, it's a choice between big government dependency or individual responsibility. Dependency leaves everyone in worse shape.

Vent #2: The gravy is getting thin. How much more gravy can we borrow?

Vent #3: We have over the last few decades overtaxed and over regulated our businesses to a point of global non-competitiveness. Big government can not make us competitive in the global market. It will take removing the government's boot on the throat of business before our markets and economy will restore our competitiveness.

Vent #4: It was an "apology" tour to impress the world that Obama was going to do things differently. Now we are paying for this apologizing and pander with the lives of our diplomats.

Vent #5: Obama and the democrats are reaching their goal of more dependency on a big government. Remember he believes in redistribution and the more people he can redistribute too is a plus for him and the social justice crowd.

Vent #6: Why haven't the terms of the teachers contract been released. Did Rahm cave to their demands?
