“I think the government of the United States is trying to get rid of the poor people and keep the rich and let them run the government so they can make their own rules.”
“Great, now Obama and his supporters’ hate speech is inspiring wackos to shoot conservatives. Isn’t Obama the one that wanted to soften the rhetoric?”
“Why was Obama so hurt and went right away to Colorado to express his sorrow and give his condolences to the victims of the shootings, when the same thing happens in Wisconsin, he is a no show? And to make things worse, he has Eric Holder fill in for him.”
“Do you want to know what Mitt Romney’s personal financial records and my personal financial records have in common? They’re personal! They are no one else’s freaking business! And I don’t even plan on voting for him.”
“As an independent voter I find it interesting that (Arizona’s) Republican legislators (at least 90 percent Mormons) call themselves “conservatives” but they passed several hundred bills this year. Does this sound like less government to you?”
“So let’s arm ‘Joe The Plumber’, send him down to our southern border and see just how long he lasts.”
“Why are people upset with the Arizona Cardinals? I’ve been telling you for a long time they need a coach, so don’t blame the players.”
“The USA Olympic woman’s basketball team wins their 5th gold medal, and just as they are about to receive them, Channel 12 cut away to a children’s show? They have no patriotic spirit. It’s all about dollars and contracts. Shame on you, Channel 12 programming department.”
“We shouldn’t really be concerned at this point if Romney ever paid taxes, one should be concerned and questioning his abilities to ‘successfully’ lead the country. Leaders of the recent past have proven disastrous.”
“The Sunday Venter who wrote, ‘As long as police forces and governments worldwide use tools like this to impose laws and policies, I will support a citizen’s right to carry those same tools to protect themselves’ sounds either mentally ill (paranoid schizophrenia, perhaps) or like someone parroting garbage from the so-called “Sovereign Nation.” These people hide behind the 2nd Amendment to impose their extreme agenda on average — and mostly apathetic — citizens, cheered on by spineless members of the NRA, and championed by politicians bought off by the wealthy, hoping that the lower 99 percent just kill each other off. From everything I have read and learned throughout my life, I seriously doubt that our Founding Fathers ever imagined that their words would be twisted into anything resembling anarchy.”

Why does Arizona tell you you have to be a republican

ghostme15 -- where does Arizona tell you that you have to be a Republican?
Granted if you register to vote as a Democrat you will get punished and called for jury duty every time it is legally possible to do so.
But I was never told I < had > to be a Republican.

4th venter: you said " “Do you want to know what Mitt Romney’s personal financial records and my personal financial records have in common? They’re personal! They are no one else’s freaking business! And I don’t even plan on voting for him.”
It has become traditional for people running for the highest offices of the land to reveal their past tax returns.
In this case tax returns can reveal the character of the candidate.
When he ran for Governor of Mass. he was caught declaring Utah his home on tax returns to get a cheaper tax rate. Once caught he did the ' my bad ' thing and paid up.
He had teams of accountants and tax lawyers making out his taxes so it WAS NOT an accident.
He now refuses to reveal his tax returns BUT he DEMANDED the candidates for his VP slot show him several years of their tax returns.
Can one person be more hypocritical?
Do we REALLY want to elect such a two-faced person to the Presidency?

Vent #1 - I don't agree. There's nothing wrong with being rich so long as you earn it. It's the wealthy people that create the most jobs.
Vent #2 - Yep, Obama is the biggest hypocrite out there. He talks about civility, and then doesn't condemn an ad that calls Romney a murderer. If a Republican ad called Obama a murderer, I bet there would have been a huge outcry from the liberal media.
Vent #3 - I'm amazed that Holder hasn't been fired yet. If he's not fired on November 6th, he most likely will be in January.
Vent #4 - You got that right - they are personal. But why won't you vote for him? He'd do a far better job than Obama's doing.
Vent #5 - It depends on what was in those "hundreds" of bills. That's not necessarily more government. They're just doing their jobs. I'm all for less government, and if those bills increase government, then I don't support them.
Vent #6 - Joe was just joking, pal. No need to get all hyped about it.
Vent #7 - They have a pretty good coach already. He did lead them to the Super Bowl. Granted, they didn't win, but I think he's pretty good at it. I'm not a football fan, so I didn't cry one bit when they lost.
Vent #8 - I saw that too! I am just as upset as you are at what they did. I watched almost the entire game.
Vent #9 - Are you referring to Bush too? Sheesh. You liberals expect every Republican to be perfect.
Vent #10 - It's not an anarchy, silly. It's called self-defense. That's why some of us own guns. If some creep breaks into your home, you have every right to use a gun. ANd when the Second Amendment was written, assault rifles and automatic guns didn't exist (at least, I don't think they did).
That last vent was probably Engaged Voter's. I wouldn't be a bit surprised. I'm not saying it was, I just think it was.
Engaged Voter posted at 10:46 am on Fri, Aug 17, 2012.
Funny how mrconservative can respond to all of these Vents, yet lacks the courage to answer a few simple questions about the claims he's made.
Actually, it's not funny, it's sad and pathetic...but amusing to watch! [beam]

Vent #1: Our government trying to get rid of poor people???? Looks more like the present administration is trying to turn everyone into a poor person or at least a person dependent on the handouts of our government.
Vent #2: I blame the liberal media for not holding Obama to his own words. Anything that may look bad for Obama is suppressed.
Vent #3: Simple answer, Obama needs the Colorado vote more than the Wisconsin vote.
Vent #4: If Romney did anything wrong or illegal with his taxes, I would expect the IRS would have found out. Not an issue for me.
Vent #5: Have you considered that the legislature is unduing some mistakes and balancing the budget.
Vent #6: Liberals can't take joke except from other liberals.
Vent #7: It's going to be a long season.
Vent #8: Congrats to our women's Olympic basketball team.
Vent #9: I have no concern or doubt with Mitt Romney's ability to lead this country.
Vent #10: We don't hide behind the 2nd amendment we live according to the Constitution. You got a problem with that? LOL.
mrconservative, I suspect the same thing as you from our resident liberal/progressive bully blogger, nothing of substance just hate and name calling.

Willie,
Watch out, you used the word "traditional". The Enraged One will probably attack you. LOL
Arizona Willie posted at 12:00 pm on Sat, Aug 18, 2012.
What do we know about Romney's tax history?
Romney does not fill out his tax forms sitting at the kitchen table, he has teams of tax lawyers and accountants who calculate his taxes.
When Romney ran for governor of Massachusetts, he got caught claiming his residency was in Utah in order to get cheaper taxes. When caught, he did the ' my bad ' thing and paid up.
Do you really think that was a mistake?
Romney claimed that he was not responsible for Bain after he went to the Olympics in 1999, that he was no longer the CEO. However the SEC filings from Bain Capital still showed him as being CEO and sole stockholder.
Do you really think that was a mistake?
Romney refuses to reveal his tax returns from that time to prove whether or not he had declared himself to be CEO of Bain capital, and therefore responsible for Bain's vulture capitalism, on his tax returns.
When Harry Reid accused Romney of paying 0% taxes for 10 years, Romney called Harry Reid a liar.
But he refused to reveal his returns to prove Harry Reid had lied.
Sen. McCain has seen Romney's tax returns and he DID NOT call Harry Reid a liar.
When Sen. McCain saw Romney's tax returns, he dropped him from consideration as his VP and chose Palin.
What did McCain see in Romney's tax returns that made him want nothing to do with Romney?
Romney refuses to reveal more than 2 years of recent returns ( he won't show the returns from the years in question ).
But Romney DEMANDED candidates for his VP slot show him SEVERAL years of their returns.
Romney must be the biggest hypocrite to ever run for the Presidency.
Do we really want to elect such a two - faced person to the Presidency?

Chatmandu002 - Willie used the word traditional, but please try to pay attention...he did make false claims about the origins of those traditions. ;)
Smartvoter - you are an illiterate troll who wouldn't know proper grammar and sentence structure if it smacked you in the cranium.
Please change your psuedonym, it's shameful and insulting.
Thanks so much.

smartvoter -- boy is that ever a misnomer -- yes I post the TRUTH about about the hypocritical Republicans in many places.
Not everyone who comes through these discussion groups reads every topic, so I want to make sure everyone has a chance to see the TRUTH.
I notice that no one has been able to refute my posts about Romney's hypocracy.
You always have the option of skipping my posts. No one makes you read them.
But, yes indeed I am LIBERAL on most things -- but not all things. For instance I am against illegal immigration.
I don't hate individual Republicans on these newsgroups. Most people who are Republicans are simply mis-guided and have drank the kool-aid supplied by the people whom I do hate --- the people who conspire to keep the masses poor and uneducated. The top Republican Congresspeople and party leaders -- those individuals I can work up a good hate for because they are smart enough to know they are scrooing the American public for the benefit of the 1%.
I don't hate you or any other Republican / Conservative on this newsgroup. I likely do disagree vociferously with some of your opinions.
But that's the great thing about America -- you have the right to be wrong.
Of course === I am < never > wrong.
*********
Engaged Voter, your first sentence confuses me. You say I used the word traditional, and I did, but then you say " he did make false claims about the origins of those traditions" and that confuses me because I didn't mention the origins of any traditions.
So I'm not sure who you were talking about. In fact, I don't remember seeing any of the posts in this thread that did talk about origins of traditions.

No one here is likely to change anyone else's mind or to have their mind changed.
It's just a sado-masochistic form of entertainment.
NEVER take anything here very seriously.
