An 18-month-old Mesa girl was killed Sunday morning when she was run over by a truck driven by her uncle, who was later arrested and faces charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs, according to Mesa police.

Priscilla Matthews was in the driveway of her family's home in the 600 block of East Millett Avenue, near Mesa Drive and Southern Avenue, when a truck driven by Mark Anthony Perez, 28, backed over her, police spokeswoman Diana Tapia said.

Priscilla was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the 11:30 a.m. incident, according to police reports.

Perez was booked into Mesa city jail and faces charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs, Tapia said.

Priscilla's parents were inside the house at the time she was killed, according to police reports.

No further information was available Sunday. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
