An Amber Alert was issued for two young children missing from their Queen Creek home where the bodies of their grandparents and uncle were found slain.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said the children, 18-month-old Brian Cervantes and 3-year-old sister Jennifer Cervantes, are believed to be with their father, Rodrigo Cervantes Zavala.

Cervantes Zavala, 34, is being called an investigative lead.

The grandparents and uncle found dead late Sunday were relatives of the children’s mother. They lived in the house together, though the mother was not home at the time of the slayings, investigators said.

Cervantes Zavala may be headed for the Mexican border, the sheriff’s office said Monday.
