A dramatic, but brief, change in the weather is coming. Thunderstorms and cooler temperatures are forecast for Monday.

But once the storms pass, Tuesday through the end of the week should have sunny skies and near-normal highs.

The National Weather Service says its computer models have moisture from Tropical Storm Juliette moving into Arizona from Mexico, just in time for the arrival of a low-pressure system from the Pacific.

There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation on Monday, and these storms could drop as much as an inch of rain. Gusty winds and small hail also are possible.

Monday’s daytime high is expected to top out at 84 degrees, which is 10 below the normal for the first day of October.
