The dead body of an elderly woman was discovered along an east Mesa road on Friday afternoon.
Mesa police responded to the 1700 block of S. Signal Butte Road around 4:20 p.m. after receiving a call from a driver who spotted the body, police said.
Police are still investigating the death, but the cause is not considered suspicious, Mesa police spokesman Chris Arvayo said.
Police are withholding the identity of the woman until her family is notified.
