Wet weather is returning to the Valley, in two parts.
The first rain is forecast to fall on Thursday night, but precipitation totals aren’t expected to top a quarter-inch.
But on Saturday, a stronger and colder storm system will sweep into the state. The National Weather Service is warning of locally heavy rain with the possibility of thunderstorms. Also, the snow level near the Valley will drop to 5,500 feet.
In Arizona’s high country, the weekend could see moderate to heavy snow.
Once the storms pass, Sunday into at least the middle of next week will be marked by mostly sunny skies but below-average temperatures.
