ASU freshman linebacker Vontaze Burfict has received clearance to play and will suit up for Saturday's game against Idaho State, school officials said.
Burfict, the highest-ranked player ASU has ever signed, was awaiting word from the NCAA Clearinghouse regarding courses he took over the summer.
The Clearinghouse approved his eligibility Friday, and although Burfict missed some practice time this past week as he waited for that approval, he's expected to play Saturday.
Burfict had been running with the second team in practice, but it's unknown how much playing time he'll see.
