Two people were taken to a nearby hospital after their pickup truck crashed into a Circle K building in Chandler Saturday afternoon, according to a city fire department official.
Chandler police spokesman Detective David Ramer said no one inside the Circle K was injured in the incident, which occurred at about 3:30 p.m.
The store is located on the southwest corner of Chandler Boulevard and McQueen Road.
Ramer said it's likely that impairment was involved.
"These guys pulled into the Circle K, went inside the building, then got into their car, drove in the parking lot, and then lost control of the vehicle," Ramer said.
A case of beer was found lying near the front passenger's seat.
Police are still determining what led the driver to lose control of the truck.
Ramer said there may have been a third person in the truck. No one had been cited yet.
The side of the building facing McQueen road was damaged. The extent of the damage was not immediately known.
