Jimmy Buffett to play free Margaritaville show

Laid back beach bum troubadour Jimmy Buffett will play a free show in Glendale Wednesday, April 9, at the grand re-opening of his Margaritaville restaurant at the Westgate City Center, 6751 N. Sunset Blvd, Glendale.

While the show is free, fans will need a ticket to get into the gig, and pairs of tickets can be won beginning Tuesday, April 1, through these media outlets: Margaritaville.com , New Times , KNIX 102.5, MIX 96.9, KEZ 99.9, KFYI 550, XTRA 910, 944 Magazine and Radio Margaritaville. Tickets can also be won at the Glendale Margaritaville location, as the restaurant will drawing to give away 60 tickets daily.

Buffett has parlayed his best known song, “Margaritaville” (a Top 10 hit in 1977), into a clothing line, frozen food entrees, margarita mix, beer (Landshark Lager) and 12 Margaritaville restaurants that capture the vibe of the Caribbean beach bars that Buffett sings about in may of his songs.

Doors for he Glendale show open at 4:30 and Buffett, who will be accompanied by longtime backing guitarist Mac MacAnally, play at 5:30.
