A 6-year-old Flagstaff boy who had been missing for five days with his father threatening to kill the boy and himself was found safe Monday, authorities said.
An Amber Alert had been issued for Brady Travis earlier Monday, but the boy and his father, Michael Travis, 49, both were found in a home in Mohave County.
After brief negotiations, Michael Travis released the boy, and the boy’s mother was going to come pick the boy up, police said.
Travis was being held in the Mohave County Jail, charges pending.
Travis is involved in a custody battle with the mother over the child. He did not return the boy to his mother on Sunday, police said. Michael Travis called police Sunday and threatened to kill the boy and himself, police said.
