PHOENIX - A key witness in the prosecution in Phoenix of alleged serial predator Mark Goudeau (goo-DOH') says she's not confident about the identity of the man who attacked her and her sister in September 2005.
The 25-year-old Phoenix woman says she was able to glance at the face of her attacker a few times while he assaulted her sister. But in court today, she wavered when asked if that man was Goudeau. When asked by the prosecutor if she recognized him, the woman said -- quote -- "I think so."
Upon cross-examination, however, the woman said she wasn't confident about her identification.
Prosecutors say D-N-A tests also link Goudeau to the attack.
Trial in the case is expected to begin July 16th.
Goudeau also is was charged in a separate indictment with nine counts of first-degree murder and various other counts. The charges stem from a yearlong crime spree in the Phoenix area that was attributed to the so-called Baseline Killer.
