Mesa police are seeking help from the public after an 18-year-old Hispanic male died early Sunday morning from a single gunshot to the back.

Police were called to the 200 block of East Ivy at 2:30 a.m. by a 16-year-old female resident of the home about a shooting at the home. Officers arrived and found the victim lying on the front grass. The man died enroute to a Scottsdale hospital.

The 911 caller told police she was having a party at the residence and it grew out of control. She called her aunt to help break up the party. Her aunt arrived with the male victim, who has not been identified, to tell people to leave. Police say a fight broke out between the victim and another male on the front lawn. The victim was then shot.

Police have no suspect information at this time. If you know anything about this incident, Mesa police ask that you call (480) 644-2211.
