The biggest bulk of the budget includes $28.9 million in maintenance and operations, which pays for the majority of instructional costs, student transportation, general upkeep of district facilities and district administration and support.

Primary property taxes will decrease from last year's $199.07, to $95.63, per $100,000 of a home's assessed value, said Shari Zara, the district's chief financial officer.

The taxes will bring $2 million to the district to pay for street improvements around school property, Zara said.
