Gilbert police are investigating the suspicious disappearance of a Gilbert woman whose dog was found wandering near her home still wearing its leash. Anne Carver left her home in the area of Queen Creek and Greenfield roads with her dog about 5 a.m. Monday.

Her dog was found alone about 30 minutes later, according to a police report.

On Tuesday, police officers, helicopters and tracking dogs searched for Carver.

Her family also conducted searches on horseback and on foot.

Gilbert police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marino said there is nothing to indicate foul play, but that officers are concerned that the dog was found without the woman.

Police ask that anyone with information call (480) 503-6500.
