Police have arrested two men in connection with 19 graffiti incidents in Tempe that totaled about $9,000 in damage.

Eric Trim and David Willesen, both 19 years old, were booked into Tempe City Jail on Friday on suspicion of felony criminal damage and assisting a criminal street gang.

The arrests were made following an eight month investigation. Police believe the people committing the graffiti were doing it to further their street gang.

Police said Trim was arrested in the 4700 Block of South Fairfield Drive and Willesen was arrested in the 1000 Block of East Greenway Drive
