An unmarked Tempe police cruiser stolen over the weekend was found Tuesday, stripped of equipment including the officer's gun.

Six police uniforms, tactical gear and a photo identification badge also were taken from the gold 1998 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Cmdr. Thomas Long.

Authorities had been searching for the cruiser since Saturday, when it was stolen from the driveway of a Phoenix home. Against department policy, Long had driven a friend and her daughter home and left the car running while he walked them to their door.
