Phoenix police say a woman has been hospitalized with a stab wound after confronting a burglar inside her west Phoenix residence.
Police say the woman went out for a jog Friday afternoon and found a man burglarizing her home when she returned.
The intruder confronted the victim, who screamed. Police say the man stabbed the woman once in the chest inside the house. Neighbors heard the victim screaming and called police.
One neighbor got his shotgun and, while standing outside, police say he kept the suspect inside the house as officers arrived.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police have not identified the victim or the suspect.
