The Arizona Cardinals cut wide receiver Lance Long on Tuesday in order to make room on the 53-man roster for defensive tackle Keilen Dykes, who was elevated from the practice squad.
Long, who played well in the preseason and was active for the Cardinals' season opener, later signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and was placed on their practice squad -- reuniting him with Chiefs coach Todd Haley, who was the Cards' offensive coordinator last year. The Chiefs have also signed free agent wide receiver Bobby Wade, a former University of Arizona and Desert Vista High star.
The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Dykes, who played at West Virginia, spent 2008 on the Cardinals practice squad after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent. Arizona also re-signed wide receiver Onrea Jones to the practice squad.
