PHOENIX - A Phoenix College football player has been shot and killed at his home near campus.
Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Joel Tranter says some friends of the victim, reportedly a sophomore running back, stopped by the house about 11:30 p.m. Sunday and found the 20-year-old victim in the doorway.
Tranter says the man had been shot in the back, but that evidence at the scene indicated he had exchanged shots with his assailant or assailants.
Tranter says investigators don't believe that it was a random shooting.
