Scottsdale police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man thought to be responsible for assaults on two women.

One of the women was attacked about 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 while taking out trash behind her business in the 10000 block of North Scottsdale Road.

The woman, who was grabbed from behind, turned and hit her attacker with the trash box before he fled.

At 1:30 a.m. Dec. 2, another woman told police she was attacked behind the Walgreens drugstore near Shea Boulevard and 70th Street as she walked with a friend.

A man grabbed one of the women and ran toward a condominium complex near 70th Street and Gold Dust Avenue.

Police also said they have responded to reports of a man “lurking.”

The assailant is described as Hispanic, in his 20s and weighing about 190 pounds. He was wearing an orange hooded sweat shirt, jeans and athletic shoes during the Walgreens attack.

Anyone with information, or who recognizes the man in the video surveillance photos, should call Scottsdale police at (480) 312-5000.
